Hey guys, I've been reading a lot more comics recently and I was just wondering, what is your favorite DC comic/storyline? Maybe we can give each other some ideas about what to read next, or just reminisce about stuff we really liked.

My favorite DC comics are usually Batman ones, and I especially liked Hush and The Long Halloween.
I also really dig Red Hood, and the comics "Under the Hood" and "Red Hood: Lost Years" are excellent.

I've never read Superman Red Son or The Sinestro Corps War, I'll have to check those out. My buddy Matt lent me a copy of Agent Orange (about the Orange Lanterns), and it was incredible. Larfleeze is awesome.

My favorite is Seasons of the Mists from Sandman. That was a great story. Of course that was one of the best series too.

Identity Crisis I think is about one of the best comics I've ever read.
The Sinestro Corps War (And just about anything GL) is really good.
Kingdom Come, and 52 are really good, too.
Also highly suggest to anyone, Secret Six, and Shadowpact.

It's been yeeeeeaaaaars since I've read it, that I barily remember anything that happened.
But at it's time it was a commentary on the state of comics, with characters like Cable being more popular than classic type characters like Batman.
It does not portray Cable-like characters in a good light. (Which is fine with me. I hate Cable, and characters like him).
It was set in the future, and the current set of DCU characters like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman have all aged and retired, and were replaced by new superheroes who don't value life as highly.
I could be wrong, but that's how I remember it.

its the dc universe 30 years in the future from the 90s. its 300 pages of references with alex ross making superheroes that look like something out of a norman rockwell painting. Theres also traces and hints of what marvels civil war storyline would do in ten years

Cosmic Odyssey kicks ass!
It still impacts Green Lantern stories today- some 30 years later!
Plus, it's an amazing Batman depiction for his part- fighting against a big bruiser from Apoklips that waaay outside his physcal abilities.

DC, this time, huh? Well, even though I'm a die-hard Marvel guy, the DC stories are easier for me to narrow down. Probably because I don't read them as much. So here we go:

Crisis on Infinite Earths
Kingdom Come
Knightfall
The Long Halloween
The Killing Joke

There's also a one-off Detective Comics story I really loved called "All My Enemies Against Me". It's basically a who's-who of Batman rogues at the time of the comics' publication. I wish I could remember the issue number, though.

Also, there's the DC/Marvel crossover that led to the creation of the Amalgam universe. Loved that too.

Greenskar's mentioning of Watchmen in the other thread reminded me of a couple things I'd forgotten about in my list.

Watchmen, which I'd forgotten was DC
V for Vendetta, which I'd also forgotten was DC
Justice League International
I Can't Believe it's not Justice League

And I second these. Great reads!

Yep, that's the one. Loved that story. A fun game I like to play is to see if I can guess all of the villains pictured on the cover. They all make an appearance in the story at one point or another.

Did you get that link I sent? I think that guy has free shipping to Canada as well, and it wasn't a horrible price otherwise.

Well if you change your mind, that dude had a bunch. I put up a link for a $10 blue Sinestro in the DCUC thread too.

I need to reread Watchmen.
