When it comes to BAF's it feels like you're getting a little something extra but the way retailers are they can prevent that joy or feeling of completing the set. The way things are swapped out when "returned" or even understocked, I wanted to complete a Thanos BAF and ended up using his head to pose with my figures like a soccer ball.

I just see the BAF parts I don't want as a way to make back a little money on my figures via eBay or the BST boards

Your Con about "No web shooting hands" is a bit unfair to rate the figure down, due to the symbiote costume not needing web shooters at all i.e Like The Venom figure he does not use the web shooting hands either it's just as simple as making a fist and he shoots webbing or tendrils.

I don't have an issue with BAFs. Does it suck having to buy a figure I have absolutely no interest in to get a piece to the BAF? Sure. However, since these lines don't usually make it past Wave 1 in stores I have to order a full case anyway. Thus, I look at the BAF as a bonus for buying the entire wave. They would cost $20 whether they came with a BAF or not, so at least the BAF makes it worth it in the long run.

Never been a fan of the BAF that are "typical" sizes like Goblin King, Rocket and Jubilee. However it is certainly effective for larger figures like HulkBuster and Groot.

I do hate having to buy crappy figures like Blizzard just to get a section though.

Heh, no disrespect intended and I'm sure the character is cool, but the figure is underwhelming. I did manage to find some jeans for him though.

Actually, the figure is cooler than the character imo. Simple, minimalist costumes show how good the base figure can be.

Though some ice accessories would've been killer.

Yeah, the shiny blue really helps it pop. My only complaint is the lack of any accessories when he clearly was a reused mold.

Looking stylish. Haha are those bratz jeans? I've never thought of putting jeans on an action figure.

I think the BAF is a gimmick that gives the company and out for figures that suck. They put needed parts with figures that people may not buy. I will shoot myself in the foot here but take Nuke for example. In my opinion he was an amazing figure and one of my top for last year. He had the torso for Ant man. Without that part you have nothing. The upcoming kid Nova will be on shelves for months and he has the torso. It is like insurance. I mean put out stuff people REALLY want.
I feel though that it allows them to put out crap products just by adding an important BAF part. It is a bad mindset though because if you have to think like that then you shouldn't put the product out to your buyers. Exclusives don't have BAF parts because they will likely sell due to good concept and unique product. This isn't always the case but I feel like it often is how the BAF works.

Rant over

In doing some research for my review I found that there his actual costum has almost a white tunic over the shoulders? Maybe that would have been decent. The other crappy part is that his 'power' doesn't come from his fists so extra open hands would be kinda nice?

The metalic paint is nice though.

They were actually from a keychain that my wife got from the Guess store for spending over $100. Could not pass up trying them on him.

Shocker is awesome, but I need to hunt down a new one as Hasbro forgot to put the lines on the left belt area on the one I got. It is so damn distracting.

My problem is that with every wave there are figures with low desirability yet are essential to completing the BAF which is more typically desired. My case in point for reference is the Onslaught wave, I'd like to have an Onslaught toy but want none of the figures needed to build him. My only course is turning to the mercy (or lack thereof) of eBay sellers. Were Hasbro to sell a deluxe Onslaught on his own though I wouldn't have to face down that path. They could keep the whole-set incentive with connecting diorama pieces or something else along those lines but when entire figures are only made available for buying 6+ other figures I didn't want in the first place it irks me.

Edit: I don't like to ramble on but my other issue with BAFs is when I don't want the BAF but do want a figure or two in the wave so I end up with some other guy's head and arm that I can't do anything with.
I feel exactly the same way about Build-a-figures, so you are not alone. However, I don't mind getting B-A-F parts with the figures because I can sell them on ebay to pay myself back for part of the money I spent on the figures. I don't try to gouge people though. I start my auctions out lower than most and let the bidders decide what the parts are worth. I've sold a few parts that have practically paid for my figures, but usually I end up getting about $4 or $5 out of a B-A-F part. It turns a $20 figure into a $15 figure and gives me another point on my feedback.

Shocker is way awesome, and with his release my Superior Foes of Spider-Man Sinister Six (well, Five, really) is almost complete. All we need is for Hasbro to finally announce Overdrive, which is possible because they seem perfectly willing to include scrub characters to round out random ML waves.

The only thing I hate about this Sandman is the lack of normal arms.

Oh, and that he made the SDCC Sandman an utter failure. I was cool with the idea of that figure in sand colors, but he is absolutely useless now because I can't even give him the construct arms since they don't match right. Hasbro pretty much made their SDCC a complete waste. Sure, Purple Man is my favorite of the set and I prefer the Abomination colors from that, but there was no need for it to exist at all. They could have just done a Dare Devil set and had Purple Man in that with Kingpin and Bullseye.

Never understood why this guy called himself The Jackal when he looks like a hairy naked version of Green Goblin.

I really like how he looks, but something always having to have those sand hands bothers me. I know it helps the colors blend up into his forearm, but I would much rather have preferred an option to display him with regular hands. Even sand colored hands would have worked for me. The definitive Sandman for me is still the Spider-Man Classics version.

My g/f said the same thing when I got the figure. Not to mention she says he doesn't even look like a jackal.
