Hasbro has a better feel for what people want than the forums and Twitter I guess.
They do have the business analytics on their side... although I have to wonder if any of the MCU waves have been very profitable since well... Endgame?

Most places?
I mean Hasbro Pulse and Amazon but all these figures are still up everywhere else including Target.

As for reveal trashing. There's always someone who is mad they didn't get what they personally wanted. They are always louder and standout more.

Though from what I've seen, it's really the prices that are the debate.

I though the MJ/Spider-man two pack would sell out all over due to having this new Spider-man. Then again, that's not a bad thing.

You didn't 'find it weird at all', the concept of putting one woman's head on the body of her guy's dead ex? Even as a toy that's weird as hell to me. Are all Pete's love interests that interchangable from the next down? And it looks bizarre seeing Mary Jane basically wearing Gwen's iconic outfit. Dunno. To me it just seemed rather demeaning. Both are distinct and memorable iconic female characters yet one has to be a decaptitated head accessory rather than a whole separate figure? lol

However, I think the MJ head goes better with the Moira body, at least until a better option is made.
Poor Moira. MJ should have just been her own figure. It was a retro line inspired by the 90s Spider-Man cartoon, right? MJ was a regular character in that and had a distinctive outfit too. I'm not sure why Gwen was the one who even got a figure when she was barely in that show 'cept for an alternate universe guest appearance. Aye whatever. I don't understand toy companies decisions sometimes. But aye the Peter Park figure didn't resemble the cartoon either so I dunno what the point of that figure line was. Some of the figures absolutely did resemble their 90s toon versions.

Anyways aye, out of this lot of new figures the Renew Your Vows one is the one I've pre-ordered. Looks ace.

Thanks for the tip on Target. I didn't see them.

Being available for preorder at EE and BBTS is meaningless. They don't track what wave your order is supposed to come from. Meaning, if they are only getting 1,000 of a figure in December 2022, but can order more for a later delivery, they will take 1,001 orders of the figure and still claim it's coming in December 2022. I never trust the "unlimited" nature of preorders from those two retailers because I've been burned many times by them in terms of getting something reasonably fast.

I consider something as sold out if it's not available from retailers I know will ship it (Hasbro Pulse and Amazon are the best examples).

Being available for preorder at Target is also meaningless. They're just as likely to cancel your pre-order if they realized they took too many orders.

I was never actually a fan of the MJ design from the 90s toon. However, she doesn't really have an iconic look outside of her hair, so I guess any outfit would work.

Aye ok but many fans are and would like a figure of that (and Pete). But nah, just had to make do with a MJ head that comes with Pete's old girlfriend (who wasn't ever even his girlfriend in the continiuty of the show the toys are using the packaging and logo of). And I dunno about any outfit. Depends on the version of MJ it is. But none would be wearing Gwen's most well-known clothes. That's why the Gwen figure plus MJ head was weeeeeeeird lol.

Can we move on now?

No window box = no buy from me. Unless it's a character I really like, like Psylocke/Kwannon. Other than her, though, I am not going to buy something I can't see. Especially not something with a painted proto on the cover of the box.

But Target is ok? From my experience, they are liable to cancel your damn order.

Target and Amazon are about the same when it comes to cancelling orders. They've both gotten better about it, but it still happens.

Didn't they release an MJ (a good one) not too long before the Gwen figure? It's possible Hasbro didn't want to release another MJ too soon, so they went with Gwen and simply gave an alternate head which those with the previous MJ could use for a more classic look, and those without could use as a stand-in on Gwen if they really wanted an MJ over Gwen. I might be giving them too much credit, though.

Speaking of alternate heads - when is Lizard going to be appearing?

The only plain MJ Hasbro's done was in the TRU two pack back in 2017, the retro packaging Gwen was 2020.

Ah... it probably seemed a lot closer when they were prepping for the retro line. Though not many people would have been able to get that MJ. I think we might get a stand-alone sometime in the future...
