I thought that was always stated to be an alternate Superman III. Like it ignores the original Superman III and IV and is a sequel to the first two films. Like how them new Halloween films ignore all the old sequels, even Halloween II.

Did not care for that Superman film. One of the brighter spots in it was from an actor who is now shall we say... problematic. I thought the opening was somewhat ambiguous as to vaguely imply the Christopher Reeve era films. All I know was there was no Ned Beatty and I missed Otis.

I dunno. Aye, both Luthor and the director turned out to be problematic as you say. And I wasn't so keen on that Clark missed out on the first few years of his kid's life and started basically stalking them. I did like Brandon Routh though and I loved that he got to reprise the role in CW's Crisis On Infinite Earths with elements of Kingdom Come Superman (despite him already playing the Atom in the very same universe, which was lampshaded). Returns was announced way back then as being a sequel to Superman 1 and 2 and it's use of the John Williams scene and the characters being largely the same versions as the Reeve movies, despite the different actors (with exception of Jor-El who is still played by Marlon Brando via archive footage and CGI). Aye, it is what it is and like I said I liked Routh well enough in the role and I think he did even better in Crisis and love that his Superman is still out there in the multiverse. And I liked the concept of the Super-family but felt Returns didn't execute that well, but these days we have the tv show Superman & Lois doing a great job of that. And even before that, we did have a similar thing for a while in the comics too til Bendis came along and rushed lil Jon Kent's aging. As for Otis, aye, he was a fun character but he's not in Reeve's Superman 3 or 4 either. Heck, he was barely in Superman 2.

Oooo, forgot about Singer... Also I have not seen the Reeves films in years. Only the first two really stand out. I just double checked and forgot that Ned Beatty was replaced by of all people Jon Cryer. We lost Otis for Duckie.

Before I read "style" at the end of the third sentence I was getting ready to throw down.

For real though I'd rather live with the memory of a shitty movie than erase the memory and risk watching it again because I don't know to avoid it. Our time is limited, some things need only be suffered once.

Have you seen the Garbage Pail Kids movie? Or that Ace Ventura: Junior Pet Detective? The Last Airbender? That one live-action Fairly OddParents movie. What I mean is burn the existence of these movies forever from my memory. The horror..

I have indeed seen the Garbage Pail Kids movie, not the others though. I guess my stance though is that sometimes enduring pain makes pleasure sweeter... [checking to make sure I'm not a Cenobite]

Aye. And 'Lenny Luthor' Cryer grew up to be Lex himself in the Arrowverse and was pretty ace at it too.

Bryan Singer said the film was a franchise reboot which would mean the first two Reeve films wouldn't be canon. The screenwriters couldn't state clearly what it was. Some say it's a sequel to IV, others it's a requel to II, and others are in line with Singer. It plays so much like a hollow remake of the original that I don't know what it's supposed to be.

Superman Returns ignored 3/4 but it was a loose sequel to Superman 1/2. Obviously the fortress/farm/Brando. But clearly this Superman couldn't be from the 70/80's. Or the movie was taking place in present day with only a small time jump.

This likely would have have been made clearer if they got sequels. Not like the first Reeve's films really covered too much Superman ground when all said and done.

But it doesn't matter as it was stillborn.

Nah, it was ALWAYS stated to follow Superman 2 (5 years later) and that's why it has the Reeve film references such as Brando, the Fortress, a pic of Glenn Ford as Jon Kent, the music, Lex liking beachfront property, etc.

Kevin Spacey here says it too back in 2006.

Calm your tits. Before you have a tantrum can we wait and see what they have on Friday?

I am personally hoping for Johnny Blaze and a really nice die cast bike.

A classic Ghost Rider with a really nice bike is something they could do at retail I think.

It has to be the muscle car Ghost Rider, that's the only thing a bit too risky for the toy aisles I’d say.

They already did in 2018. The bike wasn't outstanding but it was fine considering it was made to be reused and the whole set was only $40.

I'm going to make my guess based a. What's been going on in the comics over the year or so.
A. Robbie Reyes is the first Ghost Rider Avenger, plus with the current story line showing that Earth has always had Avengers ie Avengers 10,000B.C., the books have shown a lot of never seen before Ghost Riders from the ages. B. Robbie's the main character in Avengers Forever. C. A new Ghost Rider book starring good ole Johnny Blaze is about 6 months in. D. They already have shown the retro/repaint of a new Blaze figure. E. Midnight Son's Video game coming out this year with Robbie and hell charger. F. Robbies weapon was shown and teased already.
So, if you paid close enough attention, there as been a lot of Ghost Rider stuff going on over the last few years. So my guess is, we are getting a Robbie Reyes at a minimum, 100%. And the hellcharger would be haslab worthy. As far as extras, I could see a Danny Ketch plus his bike! Cause that's only what? $60! Idk what else would make sense.

Sign me up in that category. I couldn't give less of a crap about Reyes but I'd immediately get a new Dan Ketch.

Which means if this going to be another Blaze with a bike again it's going to have to be really something fantastic to get people excited.

Blaze with cycle, light-up flame effects and a set of ramps with a ring of fire that also lights up?

Maybe? I mean better flame effects that don't fall off the bike when you breathe on it would be a start, but electronics would be a must.
