If they hold to what they said before there will be no short packs. ALL 8 figures will be 1 per case. It will simply be demand that drives the rarity. SO yes the females will be hard to get but only because of collectors.

Nova was a lot harder to track down in the GotG line than Gamora because of demand. Collectors wanted him more than her. They were both 1 per case and I saw far many more Gamora than Nova on the shelf.

Well, that's a nice change of pace. But I truly believe more scalpers get them before the collectors do. Creating inflated demand.

And of course, Machine man is still using the Bucky cap feet with a leathery texture, yet he uses the Black Panther shins with no texture. -_-

also, whats with this generic "avenging allies" at the bottom? I know they've been doing that for awhile, but whyyyy. Does it really cost too much to print out the actual name for the character in the box?

Especially since (supposedly) all the swap figures will be in the same box! It made sense when they were variants (Warriors of the Mind, Maidens of Might, Wrecking Crew) but now it's just stupid.

I'll be picking up Sentry, Scarlet Witch, Iron Fist, Hawkeye and the new Thor to complete Odin if I can find them all. I'm not familiar with Machine Man at all. Anybody know any good stories that involve him?

He was in Warren Ellis' awesome "Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E.", with Boom-Boom, Elsa Bloodstone, and a bunch of other great D-listers, but I want him strictly because he was created by Jack Kirby for the Marvel adaptation of "2001: A Space Odyssey".
I've been unsuccessful in tracking down those old issues, so admittedly, I've never read the Marvel version of "2001", but to me the idea of Jack Kirby interpreting Stanley Kubrick is just mind-blowing.

Machine Man is also known as X-51

X-51 (Earth-616) - Marvel Comics Database

He has been through a few changes over the years, but the NEXTWAVE era is my favorite. They made him into a sarcastic, drunk, robot and he has been that way since then. He recently was with Ms. Marvel in her books for a bit before she became Captain Marvel and went into space.

They are swaps in the sense that they come with the same (but different) BAF pieces, so I'll let it fly. This is a really great wave with some smart marketing (finally!) and I have no complaints. I would not be surprised if MSRP went up to 22.99 for 2015, and I don't have too much of a problem with that.

Hi, Murray...I think that's pushing it 23 bucks....I think many complain already about the price. I think it's smart business move on their part, to get 2 baf;s, you must buy 2 of each really....essentially one Baf that they will force many of us, I included, to buy two figures each of.

I do not think Hasbro will raise the price any further for a while, I think they are at a crossroads, raise it any further and many will stop collecting including myself. I am not trying to put any words in anyone's mouth, but generally reading the boards, many already feel we are getting to little for the price and quality.

There is a price hike every year, it's inevitable. Personally, I like that the higher price point has weeded out alot of the kids they may have been appealing to back when they were under $10. There is a clearly defined collecter's market that they are being forced to appeal to in order to sell their products. I pay $45+ for SH Figuarts figures because they have accessories, extra heads, hands and are extremely well made. Half of that for almost as many accessories with some of the figures and comparable articulation seems fair to me.

Action figure collecting in my adult life has been a constant case of putting my money where my mouth is. If I want something bad enough, I don't question the MSRP. I'll even pay a premium for it. When someone says "$20 is too much for any Marvel Legend figure" I think "Good, more for me." I've been paying $25-30 for some of the ML figures I have gone after from resellers, so the more people who bail out because they don't want to spend that much, the more of a chance I or anybody else have to not have to pay a mark up for the figures they aren't buying because of $3. I welcome it, so long as they give me a reason to pay more, and in this series, they definitely have.

I have no real interest in collecting Marvel figures in-general, but I kinda want that Thor and Captain Marvel. Both look great, and I regret not getting the Thor they released when they brought this line back.

I was digging the Thor as well. Obviously I'm a DC fan, however superheros in general make life make sense to me. Has anyone seen any really unique Captain America action figures in the Universe collection?

I haven't even felt tempted by a BAF since Apocalypse way back in 2006.

But man, this wave is going to be a weakness for me. I mostly enjoyed the God of Thunder comic series, and with the exception of Machine Man to whom I'm just indifferent to, I do like all the rest of the wave and would like to have a King Thor figure.

If it weren't for the BAF, I'd just get Thor and Captain Marvel; they both look great.

Thanks guys! I might look into those. I recently dropped half the titles from my pull list so I could pick up more graphic novels, trades and back issues. I like the way the Machine Man figure looks, but I have a rule that I don't buy a figure unless I've read or seen the comic or movie they were in. The Go-Go Gadget arms make me think of Stilt Man

I really like those accessories Scarlet Witch has. I think at least one of those will go to my DCC Zatanna.

This is one of the better waves I've seen. Don't know much about Machine Man, and I prefer Ms. Marvel over Captain, but otherwise... pretty solid selection, and the BAFs are pretty sweet.
