Love Mystique. Love Vindicator. Weapon X sucks ass. Wendigo's head blows.

The new Weapon X is nice and all, but I want Horseman Death Wolverine with masked and unmasked heads and his big Apocalypse sword. Also I would really like a Horsemen Caliban. (the big Liefeld version) in the red and white outfit. OOHH and Sinister and the Goblin Queen. That would be a nice 2 pack.

Am I the only one getting sick of all of the X-Men lines? Every time a new X-Men wave gets announced I just feel disappointed afterwards. Literally the only figure that got me even remotely excited for this new wave was the Weapon X. And I really like the X-Men but for whatever reason seeing them in plastic form doesn't get me excited. The only other figure I'm slightly excited for is that Gambit that got announced a while ago.

I'd have to assume to say, but I think you're probably in the minority. I for one, get ecstatic at just the mention of a possible new X-wave or X-character release from Hasbro. No right or wrong answer for what you're into though, different strokes and all that. So it's all cool.

I hope there’s a variant with green cables.

90s X-Men are pretty much 90% of my interest in collecting this line.

I genuinely hope that Marvel doesn't approve that Wendigo figure.

I don’t hate it, but it looks like some kind of “secondary mutation” for Sabertooth.

The Wendigo's head, as revealed, is definitely a slight departure from its classic representation. From my sole opinion, here are a few things I've noticed:
  • Classic Wendigo has a big square face, which Hasbro's sculpt obscures with the snarling expression and added hair around the jawline.
  • Classic Wendigo is usually depicted with a smaller nose set near his eyes, similar to Classic Hulk art, while Hasbro's sculpt has a large honker with a more natural positioning.
  • Classic Wendigo is almost always pictured as having a frothing wild, tangle of head hair, while Hasbro's sculpt seems have flat, thin almost-styled hair.

Right now, aside from a couple of characters, especially Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and Fantastic Four related, I have nearly every character I care about that isn't X-Men related at this point. Hell, now that I got Typhoid Mary, I don't think there are any villains left not related to the four franchisese listed above I care about.

From the color and face, I believe he is based on the Omega Flight version of Wendigo.

In that case, I really, really hope Guardian comes with an alternate, Omega Flight-style headsculpt...

The Wendigo head is inspired by more modern Art Adams & Ed McGuiness art.

Maybe it's the angle of the pic but guardian's head looks too big for his body.

That's been a common issue lately across the board. The heads to Sabertooth, Spider-Man Noir, Eddie Brock (from new Venom), Classic Captain America, Peter Parker (from MJ 2 pack), and 90s Cable have been a tad bigger than they should be.

I’m gonna go with angle. I think maybe the pin-heads that came packed with the Spider-Man Captain Universe figure might be throwing off the sense of scale as well.

Maybe Cap (or maybe not, since that sculpt really looks more like John Walker than Steve Rogers to my eyes), but I don’t think the rest of those are really out of scale with their bodies. Venom/Eddie Brock does indeed have a truly Josh Brolin-sized noggin, but that’s consistent with the Todd McFarlane art he’s modeled after:

Agree, the X-Men stuff gets gobbled up quick! That Magik looks great been waiting for a single release for her, loving the Weapon X and Mystique as well. Now where are those pre orders for them :P

You might be, it seems like outside of the latest MCU stuff, nothing is more popular than the X-Men.

Besides, this reveal wasn't so much about X-Men as it is was about a big Canadian reveal for Fan Expo Canada. Weapon X, Alpha Flight, Wendigo: All Canadian. (Even Mystique while I don't think is from Canada did spend a ton of time up there and has been retconned now to probably have had a relationship with every Weapon X character ever.)

This ^ you're correct I totally didn't think about that part...Honestly these are just bigger versions of the 3.75 that we have already...Granted they look great.

Did they ever do a Wendigo in 3.75? I don't remember him in that scale. I do know they were at least dangerously close to completing OG Alpha Flight for the line, I bought most of them and will gladly buy the rest someday if Hasbro ever returns to that scale.

Now I have to get the Brown Wolverine costume to go with my Spider-Man so I can repose Spidey, Wolverine, and Wendigo together with the whole "Perceptions" idea

^Nice!! Can't wait to pick this up! Just hope she'll be easier to come by than Magik. I've yet to see that figure at retail.
