He's one of the most powerful individual guys that isn't powered by super cosmic forces or a cosmic deity. Guys like Silver Surfer or some of the other heralds of Galactus edge him out by a bit but very few people of Earth could stand up to him solo. Back in the day the only way to beat him was to find some crazy sci-fi babble explanation to temporarily get rid of his powers but eventually this method proved moot as his powers had evolved to be a permanent part of him. In Secret Invasion he fights on equal ground with Nova while Nova has full access to his powers as Nova Prime and he is able then shortly after to man-handle him with ease (this was actually him pulling a fake-out on the other Skrulls but Rich had no idea it would happen and wasn't just playing along).

Went to a few Walgreens today and bought nothing. One had Netflix DD. A different one had Punisher and Elektra. No Blade, Bullseye, or Jessica, so no buy.

I also saw tons of yellow DDs, Ant-Mans, Thundras, Valkyries, female Thor, Gladiator Thor, Invisible Womans, and one had 2 Punishers, 3 Cables, 2 Rogues, a Phoenix, and Polaris.

Oh yeah I pretty much grew up on Marvel comics, the original Star Wars movies, and then the superhero cartoons on TV so I still keep up with a lot of the stuff that continues that line of thought. I like to fill people in on the gist of things in what I hope are shorter and more direct ways than just telling them to google it or look it up on the wikis which can be a bit daunting to approach if you aren't already in the know. Sometimes I do have to consult with the wikis to double check certain things but most of it just comes from love for the material.

Super Skrull is from the Skrull imperial capital planet Tarnax IV while Thanos is from Titan, one of the moons of Saturn. This is actually why he's called "Thanos the Mad Titan," it's not just because he's a big scary evil dude. Their physical similarities though are a result of similar DNA, sort of like the reason various apes have shared traits with humans. Long ago the Celestials (space gods responsible for most of the creation and evolution of life across the cosmos) tampered with the earliest of species and in an experiment created a splinter race of all species which are called Deviants. The Skrulls are one of the races which descended from the Deviants. Meanwhile on Titan all Titanians have a small amount of deviant DNA which in some cases, via a form of mutation, can override their Titanian traits and results in a child with the appearance of a deviant, Thanos was born with such a mutation. Regular Titanians otherwise (like Thanos' brother and father) just look like Humans. So Thanos and the Skrulls share some similar DNA which results in some similar physical traits.

I'd rather have a classic pajama Skrull army builder with alternate alien heads and a nice arsenal. I really liked the Select 3-pack of them, but that set is now dated and about $20 per figure instead of the original $20 for all.

I saw a video that mentioned that there will be a Walgreens exclusive Super Skrull and Thing, out new week. Also they have listings on their computers of the new Deadpool wave and one of those figures will be the hascon Deadpool.

I may know these answers before I even ask the questions...but can anyone point me to any prototype of the Walgreens Thing figure? I'm really on the fence about this set. I want a Kirby FF, but am not wild about the Torch figure, the blue of their uniforms, etc...but if the Things looks halfway on model I may get the set. The Skrull does nothing for me.

I hope the Surfer is vac-metal silver...not "silver" plastic or paint...which tens to looks more grey. Does anyone have any idea?

If I remember correctly, Hasbro did note that Surfer would be vac metal.

Vac metal? Ugh. In about 10 years our Surfers will be flaking all over the place then.

I appreciate your concern about that, but I checked all the many vacs on my shelves, and didn't notice any flaking.

I have had vinyl bits & suits disintegrate, however.

Lucky you. I had most of my Beast Wars Transmetals figures flake off on the vac metal and then the Gavan Figuarts I had wasn't the best quality thanks to it.

You got feet? The closest thing to a toys in the ones near me are dog toys.

I think they have some educational stuff at best.
