Seems marvel is losing money, linked below is the cancelled Victor Von Doom series which was going to be released tomorrow, insted we read that it is over before it began, this series looked very promising IMO and if they are willing to cut this story I wonder what else will they preview for months in advance and then drop also, sucks BIGTIME IMO marvel!!!

I think Thor, Captain America, and the rest of The Avengers, would like to have a word with you.

I haven't seen any numbers, but it would seem like Marvel is doing pretty well.

Marvel's doing fine, it's just that they have a super-tightwad owner that's recently decided to be more "hands on" with the publishing arm, in an effort to impress their Disney overlords enough that they'll give him a bigger seat at the big-boys' table.

So basically he's enacted some extremely strict guidelines as to what gets published and what gets cancelled in an effort to "save more money."

I wouldn't mind seeing a monthly Doom title where every month Doom defeats another super hero.

yeah well this whole disney thing stinks to begin with, its all about money, marvel could give a sh*t about its fans and this is proof, they also cancelled a few more titles as well.

Yeah, but if Marvel is making money than they must be making their fans happy too, cuz someone is buying the books.

I'm a huge comic book fan, I get everything, and I would not have gotten a book about a 13 year old Doom.

Just saying.

A lot of companies are right on the border of their profit/loss or losing money because of the current state of the economy but I wouldnt base one miniseries being cancelled as Marvel in trouble and losing money.

yeah well this fan aint happy so that counts for one.

and on your second point ok so what, you may not have bought a book on a young Doom saving his mother from hell but there are alot of Doom fans that were looking forward to this series me included that got the shaft what,a day before it comes out, this will alter the way I buy my comics, this behind the scenes money saving bullsh*t is just that, and I may not matter too much finacialy to them but I wont support much new stuff from marvel,I will stick to the old stuff before they were corrupted.

well dont forget the 3 or 4 other titles being cut including alpha flight, and I know they are not really "losing money",its the whole cost cutting thing that gets me and how ironic it happens when disney took over,I never liked the fact they they were bought out by disney, god does that company not own enough?

@Doomtron

You probably already know about it, but I would recommend "The Books Of Doom" by Brubaker to hold you over.

Yes, they had a lot of female comics back 5 years ago about. Mystique, Tigra, Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk. So sad for X-23...

And yes Disney is mucking it up for Marvel ever since Marvel sold to them. Marvel should have stayed their own. Heck their stocks were way higher than Disney too.

well you cannot use that excuse in the case of the Victor Von Doom books because they were not even released.

I would get a Doom book if it took place in current continuity as opposed to the past or far flung future of 2099.
