Its not based off of the 70s suit it is the 70s suit....just admit it....
Nope. 90's costume has the X buckle and wider ears than Cockrum. More recognizable too. Also more pronounced shoulder pads.

The Cockrum mask is more narrow. The pads are more prominent on the 90's version.

Im not taking just about the Cockrum Wolverine.....BYRNE drew the yellow and blue to......and just to back up what Im saying heres what Byrne had to say about Lee giving Wolverine back the yellow and Blue.....

Why did JB change Wolverine's costume?

I always wondered, was it your choice to give Wolverine a new costume in X-MEN 139?And was there any meaning behind it, i.e. the "death" of Jean Grey maybe causing Wolverine to desire a fresh start and thus the new costume?

JB: I wanted to change Wolverine's duds from the first moment I set eyes on him. Yellow and blue? That's a football team, not a wild animal! And an AMERICAN football team, no less! So as soon as I could, I gave Wolverine the brown-on-brown costume. (I still remember Jim Lee telling me proudly that he had given Wolverine his "real" costume [the yellow and blue one] back. And I remember the long pause on the other end of the phone when I mentioned I was the one who had changed the costume.) (5/5/1998)

Jim lees Wolverine was the same one Cockrum and Byrne drew......Byrne in the 70s made the mask and Shoulder pads longer and broader.....so the JL 90s suit is the one from the 70s!!!!

AND JL saying giving the costume back only makes what Im saying right.....

The only thing I got from that is that Jim Lee wanted Wolverine to have the blue and yellow costume back. It makes no mention of any of the details that Shin has been pointing out.

Having said that, the 70's and 90's versions are essentially the same design, just with minor differences. But apparently Marvel groups them both together anyway, most likely because there aren't any significant changes compared to his other costumes (color scheme, mask/no mask, materials, etc).

Regardless, you should be well aware by now which costume this discussion and poll are about, so enough with splitting hairs. Move on.

With all due respect Shin was saying it wasnt the same.....and Jim Lee the man who put him back in yellow and blue told John Byrne the man who changed it to Brown, Brown that he gave Wolvie his Real Costume back....you cant have something back if it was never there to begin with....

Semantics, the question is which would you prefer, ASX or Tiger stripe.

I really want ASX/Civil war honestly. I got enough of the old styles back in the toy biz days. I'd prefer my MU collection to just be the modern versions.

Batman - You'll be in a padded cell forever.

Joker - Maybe we can share one. You know, they'll be doubling up, the rate Toyark's inhabitants are losing their minds.

I chose the Tiger Stripes.

So true, but replace toyark with the internet itself.

Should we really have a 3rd option here?
Cause ASX and Civil war are moderately different in the gloves and boots. Unlike the Tiger stripe where the differences are negligible and don't matter.

Like the yellow on the New Avengers/Civil war gloves, and the Black patches on the boots, whereas ASX is more like the wolvie and the X-men costume where it uses tiger stripe gloves and boots more or less.

I never said there should be a third option...Shin said the 90s suit was different then the one in the 70s.....just trying to say its not....If I had to vote.....Modern.

Nope as one of the posters said above, semantics.

No need for a 3rd option because the ASX option also says current, which the current version is the ASX/Civil War "upgrade"

ASX/Civil War can give Hasbro up to 2 repaints in the 1st year of release; X-Force(it's more accurate to use the Civil War type mold), and brown(like the Icons version which coincidentally enough IS the current custome, just needs the ripples on the gloves molded in and get the ears off of the lower legs).

yeah, I think the claws on the Colossus/Wolvie deluxe pack figure are the best of the Wolvie claws in the 3 3/4 scale figures.

Yeah to be honest I've never even seen that pack. In fact, I've only seen the Sabretooth/Blob pack LAST week for the 1st time!

Here's to happy hunting! Cause I'd have the XMO;W head on that body so fast his original head would literally spin as I dropped it away...

God that's just all kinds of awesome. I need that pack badly now.

In all seriousness though, why make a new mold, when perfection already exists for ASX/Civil War.

All I want is this guy single carded, with a masked head instead of the unmasked accessories he got here. The figure is already perfection from the claws to the costume, he just needs to be easier to find! 50 bucks on amazon is just not worth it for just him. But the figure is so beautifully done too, it deserves recognition and not to just be forgotten once XMO goes off the shelves.
