Just sharing my growing MOTUC collection. I just graduated from collecting Marvel Universe and currently, I'm hunting some of my wants. Thanks for looking.

Merman and Clawful is at the back of Hordak. Octavia and Man-at-Arms are coming next month.

In the meantime, my MOTUC collection has shrunk from owning everything to this:

A Big lots in California seems to have a bunch of MOTUC figures. Clearly another offload of unwanted stock by Mattel just like the Walmart fiasco.

And thus my MOTUC is now gone. I kept a MOC He-Man, Skeletor, Vikor, King Grayskull, and Demo-Man, and that is it. The rest are gone.

What was the motivation for getting rid of them?

I stopped enjoying them. I got sick of Mattel and Digital River. I got sick of the constant piss poor quality control. They got too pricey. But overall, I just stopped enjoying them. Why continue to collect and own something I am not enjoying? THe sculpts were amazing, but I felt it was a burden to collect and then as I said, the enjoyment of owning them stopped. It is also becoming this way for DCU as it did with GI Joe and Transformers. I pretty much only want to collect Figuarts from this point on and have been getting rid of other stuff so that my collection does not look like a cluster ****.

Why would Big Lots be selling those?

Damn, I have checked my big lots and nothing. I could use another Adora to make a Captain of the Horde version, and would most likely get another Sy-Klone too to do some work on.

Mattel sold a lot of excess stock apparently to Big Lots. MOTUC has been showing up at Big Lots all across the US the past couple of weeks.

I found MOTUC at a Big Lots in Laurel, MS today! $10 a piece! I got Catra, Grizzlor, King Grayskull, Moss Man, and Clawful. I'm gonna keep checking and try to find Adora, Leech, and Megator like some other people have seen.

I've only seen the Megator and Mo-Larr w/ Skeletor for $10 each plus the 12" Ghostbusters 2 pack for $30 at Big Lots.

That's awesome! Gonna check mines out sooner or later.

And I doubt it, but has anyone spotted Whiplash? He's the only "back-log" character I've needed since I started my two years of pristine problem-free subbing with MattyCollector/Digital River.

Wanna pick-up another Moss-Man for MOC too!

Whiplash has not been one of the figures to show up at Big Lots yet. Toy conventions and online are your best bets at getting him.

Check out mattycollector.com to sign up if you're interested. Basically, you sign up for the 2014 subscription by August 19th, 2013 and you will get one figure every month in the year 2014 plus quarterly variants/oversized figures, an exclusive yearly figure, and you'll get early access to certain products before the general public. I'm a huge Masters of the Universe fan and have subscribed since the beginning and I love it. In the past years, the subscriptions at times were a mix of popular characters and obscure characters, but the next two years are designed to complete the line thus far and therefore will be filled with popular "A" list figures going forward. I would highly recommend getting a subscription. I think these are the best figures on the market hands down.

Big Lots is the only current retail outlet to find these at and only because they purchased some inventory in bulk from Mattel, which is why the figs are so heavily discounted. For a new collector it would be a windfall to find so many figure from past year's subscriptions for only $10 a pop. If you love Masters of the Universe and its extending universe, get thee to Big Lots!

I completely agree with what this guy said on facebook:

Quote:
Sorry but that meter is pure "Marketing". Ooooh the flame is at He-man's knee...what does that tell me exactly? Is that 20 subs sold? 200? 2000? You can't compare this to kickstarter, but if you want tips maybe call the 4 Horsemen and ask them how it works. You see the target goal in numbers, in DOLLARS, and the progress gets updated in numbers, in DOLLARS.

The goal hitting He-man/s ankle, knees, crotch, hand, head, sword, whatever tells me no kinds of useful information at all. Is the tip of the sword 5000 subs? 10,000? 5?

Bottom line: I have bought my two subs. That is all I can do. I can't force other people to spend their money. I'm sure not going to pimp myself out to MOTUC, or be a pledge drive, or market a line for a billion dollar toy company of which I am a PAYING CUSTOMER.

So if you want my money Mattel, you step it up. You get it out there, spread the word, blog, socialize, beg, plead and deliver to get that business.

Very nice! Hope you enjoy them! I need to go find a Big Lots to try and get the Molarr set. I can't resist it for that price.

congrats to everyone that has been finding them! the scalpers have already gone and picked clean all but one store around my area and by my area I mean the state of CT. and that's only due to them not receiving a shipment yet. would love to get some at that price but I've only been able to snatch up moss man and megator...
