Origins got me back into collecting MOTU . In particular the cost was motivation to try out first few but ended up really digging what was happening with this line once I had in hand . Ive wanted almost everything so far and own most without having to pay more than retail with some patience . But this 4 pack is a bummer with $ price .I refuse to support , I see im not alone haha still available .

Even beyond the price, I don't know that this was well thought out.

To begin with, to have so many periods covered probably isn't going to appeal to more casual collectors who grew up with a "favorite". And most more dedicated MOTU fans probably already have an 80's style He-Man (or several), though I can see the appeal of the Filmation style if you haven't gotten a prior one in that version.

The New Adventures was always a less popular version, and the 200x which might have been the most appealing is I think, similar to other comments, way off the mark. This was the younger skinnier He-Man, both the show and figures from that timeframe. This doesn't remotely capture that. I have no context for the appeal of the Netflix version personally.

An actual multi-pack would be cool to me, versus a set of individual figures, maybe something like classic He-Man, Battle Armor, Faker, and Anti-Eternia He-Man. All in a similar style/period design.

This should have included the Dolph Lundgren movie version of He-Man too if they really wanted to cover all the different eras. A 5-pack with him in it would have helped justify the $150 price better than a 4-pack.

Dolph is a great call, the movie may not have been the greatest but many classic MOTU fans have strong nostalgia for it...plus it's Dolph!

Have Mattel said if New Adventures He-Man will be getting a single card release? I know 200X He-Man and Skeletor are getting one

The hair is fine. The face can't really be changed within the parameters of the Origins style.

Other than, you know, having all of the gear and accoutrements (and hairstyle), but again, it's not supposed to mimic the Mike Young/4H style. It's supposed to mimic the style of the 1982 line.

Which is the real issue. CGI He-Man looks very weird and out of place amongst all the other figures with his spot-on likeness to the character in the show (Filmation He-Man somewhat less so, since that animation model was more closely based on the original toy).

I don't think "skinnier" is quite accurate. He just looks that way because his shoulders are even wider and more massive than the original.

Indeed.

I can't imagine that he wouldn't...

Ignore the shoulders, and even the large arms overall on the 200x, and compare just the torso on a 2002 figure to an 80's version. Noticeably skinnier contour overall, look for instance at the differences in the rib cage area, or the flatter pectoral area on the 200x.

I agree the wider shoulders further exaggerate this, but he was overall a sleeker, more stylized and "youthful" design than this. Honestly, if you showed me this figure and asked which era He-Man it was supposed to be, I would have said 80's with some alternate coloring (due to both the body and the face). I'm really not getting 200x at all (and I watched that show all the time, my absolute favorite after the original).

Really weird to go with the *TV* 80's version head and then use the *TOY* 80'S version for the 200X. None of this makes any sense!
