My dislike has NOTHING to do with it having a female cast, either. I'd think the humor in this movie is lame no matter what the gender of the actor saying the lines, since this style of humor is not for me at all. I don't know any females who think the movie looks good either I like all these actors in the remake also, and I've been a huge Kristin Wiig fan for years. My dislike for this movie has nothing to do with gender...like thousands of other men and women, we think it looks awful and it is insulting to be told I am a misogynist simply because I think a movie starring women looks moronic.
It wasn't a great trailer, that I will agree on. Feig has a history of bad trailers because he witholds the jokes for the film. Almost missed Spy because of it, but glad I checked it out when I heard the GB news.

No one ever lumps all critics into the mysoginists category. Even Feig has said he can understand the hurt caused by making it a Reboot. But to deny that the sexists comments aren't a big voice, to me. Is silly. Every single board I'm apart of has anywhere from hateful comments to slight jabs that they don't think are sexist, but theh totally are.

Every time that GB trailer pops up in my theater I cringe, expecting the usual boos from message boards, but instead it is met with lots of laughter. They laugh at things I didn't. Sure the fandom is teetering towards dislike, but I don't think we have any definitive proof showing whether or not the GA will be on board or not. They'll make there decision how to feel based on critics or their own opinion of the film.

The funniest thing I saw on Youtube was a comment from someone saying he made multiple accounts to dislike the trailer. A chorus of replies liked the idea and said they'd join in. Crazy amount of dislikes? Oh yeah! But people forget to mention the 30,000,000 views this trailer has gotten, one of the biggest responses Sony has had to a trailer. That makes the astronomical number of dislikes only 3% of the people wathing the trailer. So anyone declaring this film a failure or success based on a Youtube trailer really has nothing to go on. We'll just have to wait until July to see.

In the meantime, toys for the film are selling out in my area.

Totally agree. Nothing will ever be as good as the original, but I'm excited to be seeing a new Ghostbusters movie.

What stores have you seen the toys in? And have you seen the kid sized proton pack anywhere yet? My little boy asks about it on a regular basis.

Tell that to eBay. I think they're delusional, though, for those prices.

Saint Phe: TRU has the packs. Mine received only two, which I purchased for my boys. Walmart is getting in 6" figures and minsters, and the classic Hot Wheels Ecto 2pack.

Well, you're both wrong. Yes, many people critic it for simply being awful, but some critic it for pushing FEMINIST propaganda. Being against socialist whiney men hating third wave feminism, has nothing to do with hating women and I would say as a woman myself who despise third wave feminisim . They didn't reboot the movie with women because they actually had an innovative interesting idea, they did it for political reasons, therefore they shall be judged by their political reasons. It start to be really tiring with the left pushing ideology in everything they cand find...

Only the original (singular) is a big deal, Ghostbusters 2 isn't terrible but it was apparently done as a cash-in and Bill Murray didn't want to do it but he was under contract at that point. Different people have different preferences in their movies and I think part of why Ghostbusters is generally considered great is the way it manages to squeeze in many genre elements under one comedy roof in a smooth way.

Feig has always worked with women. Sony begged Feig to do it. He said, only if I can reboot it and use the talent I work best with...women. Sony said 'ok.' Feig is playing to his strengths, not pushing an agenda. And until whiney man babies came out in protest, there was no need to see this as a PC agenda. That was simply a narrative that supported the man babies' own agenda.

Thanks for the help. Found a proton pack for my son at our local TRU today. He is beyond pleased with it.

Also, I'm about as anti-SJW/feminist as you can get and I just don't see anything in the trailer for this movie that appears to be pushing an agenda. I think I'm more receptive to a female reboot than I would have been a bunch of modern male stars that could never possibly live up to their predecessors. I think this will let me judge it through a different lens. I just question the decision to cast Leslie Jones and Melissa McCarthy. But I'm willing to give the whole thing a shot.

On the topic of the 2016 toy line...
I found the 2016 Classics Series at Walmart today. Seems mine will be carrying the "original guys" and not the modern movie characters.

Didn't get the Matty Collector ones, so I don't know of any differences, but they look the same to me. Might be Walmart exclusive though, given the lack of information. Build piece was a glow in the dark "no ghost" symbol

An auction with pics (not mine), so the scalpers are already working on it:
