Hmm... I thought Frog Monger was a unique character and not some generic troop builder like these photos indicate. And now I'm suddenly tempted to get 2 next week. Dammit Mattel!

Odd figure to end Origins on but...
What? Didn't you know? Scott "Spector Creative" Neitlich says MOTU Origins, Masterverse and the CG toon lines are all ending by April!

You know, in these trying times, it sure is nice of you to allow that man to live in your head rent free.

He wouldn't last 2 minutes in my head. It's not a nice place.

Funny Sean C.lol.

I watched Toyguru’s video, it doesn’t seem right to me. I’m always concerned for motu at retail….honestly I’m concerned for all toys.

The fact that the CGI series just had the castle come out doesn’t seem like that’s a dying line thing to do.

Masterverse seems like it’s really going places, especially with the movie figures finally being done.

Origins, mattel just showed us Snake mountain. They just sold a $650 playset not due until next year. Plus more retail exclusives and creations exclusives.

This doesn’t seem right to me. I will always credit Scott for giving us the largest, longest running Motu line ever. I think he is off on this.

I wonder if someone isn't feeding Scott lies just to finally discredit him. He still says Universal owns MOTU, but Scott seems to be the only person who knows it. To dig out another overused phrase, "it's the hill he wants to die on".
Or he's just trolling Mattel and the fansbase? No idea at this point.

Oh, he also maintains toys can't make it at retail without kid support. Yet...seems like there are ones out there, with little to no kid/parent interest. The few TVC Star Wars that make it to brick and mortar probably aren't being bought by Timmy's allowance money.

The toy market has changed since his time. Higher price points and smaller production numbers seem to be the new way. Add on that numerous news sites have stories on how adults are the largest increase of toy buying.

I also wonder if he wasn’t heavily trolled.

The problem is those stories are puff pieces and don't hold up to much scrutiny, especially since the data used counts anyone 12 years or older as in that demographic of growth, not just 40 year old men rebuying childhoods. Plus articles like that only seem to exist to push some executive's narrative that "it's ok basic figures are nearing $30, adults are buying them and they can afford it!"

I don't agree with Scott on everything, but while he no longer is at Mattel, he still works around the toy industry and knows what's going on. I also watch his videos and while sometimes he may be off I do think he's right about a few things.

One is at brick and mortar you do need kid support to stay alive, which Mattel clearly understands because they are focusing a lot on the Netflix line and other little kid friendly things to go after a younger generation. I think all the major companies do this, which is why every collector line in the toy aisle is backed by kid friendly toys to keep these brands strong and evergreen.

The other is that the future of all of these lines in 2023 is concerning. No, I don't think MOTU dies in April or whatever, but the continued shrinking of shelf space and the massive amount of Masterverse and Origins that keeps ending up in the clearance aisle is still troubling. I just don't see Target and Walmart putting up with that for much longer. I do think they'll continue to do well enough online to continue, but pretty soon that could be the only place once again where you'll find He-Man.

Honestly, I’m more concerned over marvel legends. I’m not saying kids don’t buy motu, but the only ones I ever saw a kid touch in front of me was the CGI figures.

I would say most action figures are destined for the electronics department. Kids aren’t buying $40 Neca items, yet Walmart and target stock them. For toys, children are not the future. It’s about catching them when they become adults. Funko pops ( as much as I hate them) have created a gateway for young adults to start collecting again.

Frog Monger lasted about 50 minutes I heard.

I didn't get one because, the line is over and who cares...

Apparently there has been a large retailer Masterverse leak revealing:
Deluxe Ram Man
Deluxe Whiplash
Fakor
Grizzlor
Mer-Man
Buzz-Off
Plus four unknown regular figures and two deluxes

I got the 40th Anniversary Mattel He-Man from a local toy store, a few days ago. After 40 years, Mattel still can't get He-Man's face right... lol But it has the second best option, which is the He-Man face of my childhood He-Man figures. (:

I begged my Mother and Father so many times desperatly for a He-Man action figure when i was 5 year old or something back then in late 80s... But they didn't get me a He-Man action figure... That was the story of my life though, i also didn't get a turtles figure or a G.I. Joe figure or a Batman figure... My parents has never got me any toy that i wanted in my entire childhood. It was because my grand mother (RIP) never bought anything my mother wanted to her, so my mother immitating her mother, she never allowed my father to get me anything i wanted when i was
a kid...

Now, i get all the action figures that i want as an adult... lol getting a He-Man that facialy looks like a He-Man action figure from my childhood, but anatomicly better built sure put a smile on my face. (: Thanks for 40th year Anniversay He-Man figure, Mattel.

Wow I find myself strangely wanting to buy this
Haven’t even seen the show, just think it’s a cool look—like dark female He-Man with an 80’s haircut

Why doesn't God-Lyn include The Sword Of Power?
Anyone else having trouble entering an address on the Mattel Creations?

The sword is a fairly obvious gap, especially for the deluxe price point.

Though no problem getting to the site. Did you use the link in the article?

Just hope the feeding frenzy won't bee too bad.

I got to the site fine but it's not letting me add a shipping address to my account.

Not for Mattel, but did have an issue with NECA when trying to order their con exclusives. It was showing a non-deliverable address. I had to put my address in multiple times before it finally went through.
