Seems like things are messed up big time on their end. The news story I linked to apparently changed at least once before being deleted.

That's freaking ridiculous. I don't get how selling direct to the public requires them to charge that much. With Matty's insane shipping prices, the final price on these things will be pass worthy. Guess it's just Mattel being Mattel as usual.

What I find pathetic is they don't want to ever take chances, they want to guarantee sales with subs, unlike other companies that take a chance and release something. Then it costs you almost 40 dollars or more for a single 6 inch figure that has limited articulation compared to what the competition is doing. I love their Masters of the Universe but considering ALMOST all of it is the same bodies used OVER AND OVER, it's WAY too expensive, especially the high shipping too boot.

This coming from the World's Largest toy company. The most hated I should also add.

I mean, they helped coin the term ''Matteled''

Two less figures than expected at $5 more each starting two months later than expected. Oh well, at least we're still getting ThunderCats! And we'll still get Grune and Jaga, just next year instead of this year. I can handle that. I'm not thrilled by the subscription model, but a lot of the 6" collector figures have been going the pre-order route and a subscription isn't that much different than that. If there ever was a figure I didn't want, I'm sure I could sell it. Mattycollector figures seem to sell well on the secondary market. I'm not expecting to want to get rid of any ThunderCats though... I've been waiting a long time to get good cartoon-accurate figures! My hopes were so high with the Bandai line a few years back. I bought them all (most I collected two of so I could keep one packaged) and love them, but they were cut way short. Hopefully, this Mattycollector line will live a long and fruitful life. I'll be doing my part! Thundercats, HO!!!!!!!

Wow.

I was trying to convince myself to order these, and was telling myself that Matty couldn't screw everyone as badly yet again, but here we go. They're focking up before they even get the subscription up and running now.

Pass.

As someone who was on the fence (really wanted Thundercats in this style, but have had nothing but negative experience with MattyCollector), this seals the deal. I'm done with these before they are even made.

Ouch, sorry to hear that the plan dropped to four figures. I had to give it up for Mattel for getting over the hump with the 66 Batman cast. Some people say the figures aren't detailed but I consider the batmobile, rouges, and Batgirl to be pretty big details.

Mattel should at least make a clear intent to finish the line if they want people to start collecting it though.

Tygra
Wily-Kit

Mumm-Ra (Both Forms)

If they get those done, I'm good. The rest is gravy.

Ghost Jaga, Kid Lion-O, Ma-Mutt are extended wants personally.

I feel sorry for the people that will have to deal with them to get figures they want.

The price increase is kinda harsh, but I still want them. I understand the sub loosing 2 figures because they pushed back the start month. I just am guessing that Jaga and Grune will be the first 2 in the next year. I would rather them keep to 1 figure a month than double up. Sometimes that method has made the MOTU classics very expensive in certain months.

As nice as these are, I think I'd rather just collect the original figures from the 80s at this point. I didn't do the sub for He-Man and won't do this one.

Wait, doesn't that mean they cancelled the "super" Mumm-Ra figure then, since he's no longer listed? (The Sub exclusive version shown was the mummy/weak version.)

That was my litmus for the line; if it looked good I'd pick a few figures up, if not, then pass.

I was going to Subscribe to this line but with it being my first Matty Collector experience then with the changes to price and amount of figures being released I'm out.

Seems like Matty is not looked upon very well by their previous subscribers.

They weren't planning to do transformed Mumm-Ra this year, which is pretty stupid.

You just saved yourself a lot of headaches. I had nothing but problems with Matty when I was subscribing to the He-Man line. So much so that I eventually lost all interest in the line and sold off my entire collection. Talk about a waste of money and time for that 4 years I spent on it.

yeah, was really looking forward to this but, i will be passing on this as well. it looks as if they're already fumbling right out the gate and i don't really need the aggravation dealing with them.
love thundercats but, there are other things i can spend my money on..

Everyone is passing on this because one person went snooping around mattels website and now its changed a little. But in two years these same people will complain when the line is doing great and they can't find a mumm ra for a decent price.

No one went snooping. It was on their front page for all to see until they deleted it.
