It sad how cheap and awful Mattel's DC figures have always looked.

I just want to see the rest of the product revealed last year to get released. Specifically all those Titans figures.

Is there any word that they might have been axed?

So, for the most part, the JW line is ok.

2) This is the Jurassic World toyline. The toys are meant to be accurate to the movie, so if you have complaints about the scientific accuracy of a sub-par Hollywood blockbuster, go to Speilberg. The toys do what they should - provide a fun experience for kids who enjoy the JW films, and are the best main stream, kid-oriented dinosaur toys in a long time, maybe ever. More importantly to the toy industry, they have been successful. There is still a significant amount of shelf space dedicated to the toyline, long after most such movie tie ins (like Rampage, or Black Panther) have vanished.

3) If you want a good, accurate, feathered dino line, check out Creative Beasts studios, and support their upcoming (non-feathered) line of Ceratopsians. https://creative-beast.com/product-c...SAAEgKmMvD_BwE
My issue with Jurassic World is it came out a decade after the last film, and while being a “sequel” to Jurassic Park, it really was a reboot of sorts. It was the first movie of its kind for many kids, and got them watching the originals. Children today are taught in school that raptors and many other species had feathers. I will be in the toy aisle at Walmart and I’ve heard actual REAL children pass on the raptor toys because “that’s not how they are supposed to look”. If all these other franchises can update to stay relevant to today’s youth, why can’t the Jurassic franchise? I’m thrilled the line adds “oddballs” like Herrerasaurus, Baryonyx, etc, but Ceratosaurus looks like a troll. T. Rex still has the atrocious head that was elongated and rounded to give her a sympathetic, dog-like quality that Spielberg wanted in the first movie almost 30 years ago. I really believe it’s a horrible misjudgment on Universal’s part and Mattel’s. When the first Jurassic Park came out, many people’s ideas of dinosaurs at that time were the lumbering, tail dragging beasts of Land Before Time, 10,000 BC, and Arthur Conan Doyle’s Lost World. Many parents and particularly grandparents were learning a new way to see dinosaurs. Jurassic World could have done that for modern audiences. Instead, it chose to stick with the Jaws: Revenge model, and it was all the poorer for doing so.

As for creative beasts, yes, I have several of his raptors and can’t wait for the ceratopsian Kickstarter to begin.

Nothing I saw in any of the two dozen YouTube videos covering the events, hopefully more news at SDCC. would love to have a 6” scale Ian Malcolm.

No news is disappointing. Really want Grant, Sattler, Malcolm, and some generic raptors from the first film. Here's to hoping for more news at SDCC.

I don't know how they don't have a single "Legacy" Jurassic Park thing to display. Lego didn't have anything either, at least we got the 1 set. Are there likeness rights issues or something?

Doubtful. The nice things about the first JP movie was the characters and the actors were “normal people”... so they don’t have to have a scanned face of Jeff Goldblum. A reasonable likeness would be fine. Similar to the kids of the Stranger Things toys. They look the part well enough without being scanned sculpts of the kid actors.

I just googled the last pics of the 6” figures. Yeah, they are sculpted and painted to look similar, but not scanned faces like Starwars, Hot Toys or some of the Mediacom figures,.. so I don’t think it’s a likeness issue.

I'll say this though, while expensive, that Mezco Stewart is sick! Not to mention the Jordan figure. Best GL figure's I've ever seen.
I'm thinking about picking one of those One:12 guys up. My only complaint is the weirdly-stylized costumes the Mezco figures have sometimes... especially with the GLs. Reminds me of the 2011 movie.

This doesn't seem to bode well for Mattel.

It really seems like they're just phoning it in. In Distribution, in New Products, in marketing.

It's not a wonder they're losing stock value. They seem extremely slow to adjust to a post TRU world.

Just continue to rely on Hot Wheels and Barbie. JP distribution was good, except of course for a certain Spino that never even showed up in stores out here.

According to Pixel Dan there will be a Netflix She-ra toyline coming out later this year, so now I can ignore Mattel for the next six months. Except that Poison Ivy, I'm going to get that.

The Legacy Collection stuff is all Target exclusive, and as Toy Fair is more of a wider reach, store exclusives usually get left out here, whereas they get bigger focus at events like, compared to Transformers, SDCC or Botcon in the past. That's why the Brachiosaurus didn't make an appearance, because it got moved into Legacy instead.

Why Mattel did nothing with the 6" line is beyond me, or how they didn't show off any of the new Mega Dual Attacks or even the Attack Packs in person. Was there any coverage of the collector panel?

lol

You would think they would have wanted to have that out to coincide WITH the show, but okay. They pulled the same crap with Voltron too when Voltron Force was airing.

Those mini-dinos look like mini Gon styled figures. Really digging those.

Digging some of the DC Multiverse stuff, at least Robin and Batgirl.

The movie batman figure is neat. It's an amazing classic throwback to his first batman movie figure in style, detail, and accessories(minus zipline belt of the original). Entirely has that classic figure design aesthetic as a nostalgia throwback with some modern articulation added.

Hopefully the next World movie is the nail in the coffin for this geriatric series. I say that as a HUGE fan of the novels. The movies have got to go extinct.
How are they 30 year old recycled toys? Mattel has had te license for a year.you think Hasbro just said oh you have the license now? Here have all our molds.
My question is what happen3d to that Brachiosaurus?
As far as feathered dinos, remember these aren't dinos. They are all genetic hybrids. In the universe canon there were holes in the genetic code. He'll on the book the tree has a frogs tongue.

30 year old toys because Mattel basically carried over the same toys Kenner made in 1993. New molds, but side be side they look almost identical. They are clinging to the past.

If you are asking about the one during the volcanic explosion, that Brachiosaurus burned to death.

That was a great cop-out written into the movie. It could, and should, have been written in to explain feathers on the dinosaurs. What Wu should have said was, “In the past, we used other dna that affected the look of our dinosaurs. With advances in DNA cloning, our current dinosaurs are more genetically pure and that explains the feathers and proper wrists.”

T-Rex never had a frog tongue in either book. In Jurassic Park, it had a slightly forked tongue it used to explore a cave the kids were hiding in. That was more of a snake-like trait, using a Jacobson’s organ to smell. It coiled around Tim’s leg and pulled him. It wasn’t launched at him nor was it sticky.
