I honestly don't understand how they can call these "action figures"..

I saw Rick, Travis and Michonne earlier today, at three different stores no less. I thought all of them were really disappointing. The sculpts were ok, but paint was all over the place and articulation was non-existent, except for Travis. Travis has some arm articulation, but it's not very useful articulation.

It's amazing how McFarlane is basically responsible for the high-quality adult collector's market we all enjoy today, but after laying the groundwork have allowed themselves to be left behind in the dust by their competitors.

I picked up the first 3 figures yesterday. I like them. They do have some articulation, but it's pretty unnecessary, since if you turn any parts, you "break" the sculpted pose. This is fine by me, since they look so damn cool, and I'm not a fan of articulation anyway. Can't wait for future releases.

These are not even good statues, McFarlane's paint is atrocious even on the bigger ones. The amount of paint applications is irrelevant if you just pour the stuff onto the figures.

I wish there were no such thing as the master license or whatever. I just feel robbed of actually decent figures.

The Walking Dead figures were fine the way they were. I'm not interested in statues.

I am! I'm fucking pissed! Todd McFarlane is one of my hero's in the old days and I watched a interview where he PROMISED that these 7 inch scale "COLOR TOPS" figures were going to have "MODERN" articulation & be designed with collectors in mind. I can care less about the Walking Dead franchise, and since Spawn isn't out yet, the figure he waa talking when he promised the interviewer and fans, so it's possible it will still happen. But no, I highly doubt it and I just don't get it! Why even put swivels in if it's gonna make it look like a broken human statue. There is absolutely NO FLOW with the "articulation" and they are still being called "action figures"

I waa really looking forward to a new Spawn thst I could actually pose without spending gobs of money. Then I asked Randy on Twitter if he would ever do Spawn I get the feeling he hates Spawn. Can anyone else confirm that?

I'm guessing NO ONE is gonna buy this line and make Todd actually have to do some new tooling to his "action figure" line. Freakin bs

I don't think McFarlane would let NECA make Spawn toys even if NECA wanted to.

I never have understood the half statue/half action figure concept. It drives me nuts to have a figure with movable arms and a totally solid lower body. It's like getting a die cast car where only the front wheels can roll.

I guess they could be justified as price saving or more likely sculpt-saving choices. Like back when NECA did those types of figures (cult classics, their old Terminator stuff, etc.) I could see them having finished a sculpt and then deciding they'd rather not hurt the pants by cutting them up with what would have been crummy/limited articulation. Thankfully as their methods developed they started throwing in lower body articulation.

I am not sure that I understand why he is chilling with blood running out of his eye. I mean he has a gaping bleeding hole in his head and he is just walking around like it is no big deal. The figure and paint doesn't make sense.
