I saw on BBTS that a pre-order is up for a 7" figure of Marcus Fenix from Gears of War 4 in the Color Tops line.

It's listed as #24 in the line but I guess we'll see more at ToyFair, maybe.

Isn't 14 points of articulation better then the past color tops releases? I'm sure it'll still be missing hips and knees but if they actually give these figures what thry need, they might not sit on shelves as long. As is I like this figure he looks pretty rad.

also is there a way to get notifications on this site like we do over at TFW? thanks if possible

Given how Kait turned out I'd prefer if Marcus had next to no articulation beneath the waist. Assuming the final product keeps this pose he will have a very stationary appearance but Kait is in a running pose and so them giving her knee articulation at all actually makes balancing the figure upright a bit of a trick as she tends to tip back on her knee joints. Anyway I'm definitely looking at getting Marcus here to go with the others.

I love Gears but I can't bring myself to pull the trigger on the McFarlane line yet. I have a bunch of the NECA figs, and it's tough to go from having articulation to not having any (sorry I know McFarlane has articulation but they're still st-action figures at the best). And there's nothing wrong with McFarlane figures as I still have a bunch from the older line in my display case, and can't wait to get the new Spawn figure. Their Halo and Assassin's Creed figures had decent articulation that didn't interfere with the sculpt, proving that they can actually make decently articulated figures.

Some of their Halo figures were actually very well articulated although still rather fragile. Although the NECA Gears are superior and I wish they still had the license I'm content with what McFarlane has given us so far.

Exactly! That's why I'm kinda surprised and a little disappointed they went with the st-action route instead of more like the Halo line. Marcus will be hard to turn down tho as the sculpt looks great.

I'm still confused thou. What's the actual function of that knee joint if there is no hip joint or even ankle joint. Doesn't make any sense.

I guess it's just so they can say that it has articulation even if said articulation is literally useless. So far with this line I wish there was no articulation beneath the waist because it's only been detrimental to the figures' balance and/or appearance.
