The sky must be falling. Playmates actually spent money to make new 6" TMNT figures instead of repainting the TMNT Classics cartoon or movie figures.

Aye, I thought these were the 2014 molds they did of the mirage comics but comparing them, the ones in these Stranger Things sets look new and have more articulation.

this is so weird of a mashup that i need it just for the sake of people looking at it and saying why. like the turtles arent even dressed like they would be in the upside down or anything. its literally just two separate properties in the same box for no reason. can we get a batman with alvin from the chipmunks, why, well why not.

They didn't even try to theme the turtles with some garish '80s garb? Like, throw on some funky shorts and shades, give 'em some fresh high-tops (with huge turtle toes spilling out the front) and "I Want My TMNT" shirts and theme their weapons.

Leo's sword? Blade-necked keytar. Raph's sai? Two Motorola brickphones with the antenna splayed out into triple points. Mikey's nunchaku? Two Walkmans with tangled headphone cords holding them together. Donnie's staff? I dunno, a whack ass skateboard split down the center with the ends taped together?

Aye that does sound like the kind of stuff the original TMNT toyline would have done. They had all sorts of silly outfit versions of the Turtles that often made for some appealing figures.

Precisely! This would've been an opportunity to go all wacky like the OG line and get some more older fans sliding back into Playmates' DMs.

Hopper looks like Hopper but Eleven looks like Barbie.

This would be cool just to have. Like my TMNT Ghostbusters mash ups, amidst all my toys, people would do a double take on that just because "what?!?"

But I'll wait for clearance on these.

This is like dollar store toy levels of putting figures that don't go together in a single pack and saying it's a crossover.
They could have at least done a mash up.

Have Turtles become the biggest whores of the action figure world? Is there any property they won’t go with?

Here are the listings from Target's website if anyone wants to see better pics. Eleven doesn't look like MBB but Hopper at least looks passable for DH. As for Raph and Leo, they're actually decent looking. I doubt they'll be better than Neca's upcoming Mirage TMNT figures. But for what they are, I like them. Not sure I'll get these though cause, ya know, Neca.

According to Preternia.com's Twitter, Donatello/Lucas and Michelangelo/Dustin 2 packs will be out in October. Probably around NYCC.

The articulation on the stranger things characters looks abysmal. Unless you're hard up for these versions of the turtles this one is an easy pass. I'd love to have some 6 inch scale ST figures but not if they are going to be presented like this.

There were the Star Trek and Universal Monsters figures back in the day. And the whole thing is a spoof anyway (The Foot=The Hand and Splinter=Stick from Daredevil off the top of my head) but yeah, this is all new levels of smashing things together like a kid with a bottomless toychest.

"And then April gets in the Batmobile, because the Terror Drome and the Technodrome have joined forces, and then RoboCop kicks Vader out of the Party Wagon!"

Call me when they do something really nuts, like a Transformers Turtle Blimp, or Barbie Foot Cruiser, or the turtles in, like, Clockwork Orange costumes or something. Forget a double take, make people question if they're currently in a dream.

That doesn't seem too outlandish given that there are official Transformer toys crossed over with Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Top Gun, Jurassic Park, Universal Monsters.
They haven't got to TMNT yet. But there's a chap on Instagram who has made 3d printed Transformers based on their appearance in the 80s Marvel comics and he went one step further and made an Optimus Prime / Party Wagon too. Which is pretty ace and does transform and all that.

Their instagram is https://www.instagram.com/printformers_gallery/

As a fan of BTTF, GB, and G.I. Joe, those crossovers have been the only way to get me close to picking up a transformer, but when I say blimp, I mean blimp. Like, show me a literal balloon flipping open and revealing limbs. Break my brain.

But blimps tend to be full of air, including the original TMNT blimp toy. How would that be a Transformer? lol

Definitely an oddity, but I'm not complaining. Looking forward to these and can't wait to see which Stranger Things characters they pair with the obligatory last two turtles.

Because Steve already got plenty of love in other forms.

Anyway, they've got to have Mike and Will on the pipeline, right?
