I completely missed out on NECA's regular Gears line so I hope these turn out well. I'd like to have a 6-7" Marcus on the shelf since as is I only have the 3.75" NECA one and it has some ugly face paint which is weird because they nailed the tattoos on those little guys.

McFarlane should stop calling them figures, and start calling them statues. Now if they make these in the same vein and scale as their REACH line of figures, that would be awesome. It was really when they were at their best.

With these I'd prefer a plastic statue like the golden age of Spawn figures over how their Walking Dead figures come out. Now 7" with the quality of their Halo Reach figures would be ideal for such an action-packed franchise like Gears of War. The last McFarlane item I bought that had any actual articulation was the Halo 2 anniversary Master Chief (from the same wave as the cloaked Halo 5 teaser Chief) and it's pretty close to the level they were at with Reach, it only lacks some of the painted detail they had.

I've never been a fan of the Gears games admittedly, but if they are on that same wave length of what they did with REACH...especially with custom armors and such, I might grab a couple. That series of figures was insane. A shame that they have slacked off with the Halo stuff as of late, but again, honestly, it might actually be good, I just hate the looks of the newer Spartan suits.

I didn't get into Gears until last year, around February, when I got a Gamestop gift card from my cousin and my brother figured we should buy the trilogy since it was so talked about as one of those "reasons to own an Xbox" games. It helped that all 3 used cost less than $10. We were pretty quickly hooked and completely satisfied just playing the co-op campaigns, each was its own testosterone-fueled adventure of balls-to-the-wall carnage and action cliches. I really dig the way that the combat is both tactical and fast-paced. I would doubt though that these new toys would have any swap-off armor since the characters in GoW wear mostly similar armor.

Regarding Halo I agree that the new armor stinks. I really enjoyed the first 3 and had a good time playing them with friends, ODST was a solid attempt to give us something a bit different, and Reach was a nice farewell to the franchise. Until Halo 4 came along with its convoluted themes, different composer , and armor that looked too Japanese or something (like the shoulder-pads were too big and the torso looked too busy). I was so disappointed with Halo 4 I haven't thought about touching Halo 5.
