What is up with Koto doing these colour scheme change re-releases? I own the first one, and why would I ever buy this one when they are in the same exact pose (granted, face sculpt is different)? Just feels like a weird marketing decision. If anything, they should have re-released their earlier Poison Ivy Bishoujo release from 2011, which is pretty expensive in the aftermarket now.

Kotobukiya keeps doing re-releases of statues, but refuses to re-release hard to find and expensive SDCC editions such as the classic Psylocke (still don't understand why the classic version was a convention exclusive, while the X-Force ones was the regular retail one) or Red She-Hulk?

Marvel characters are a different matter from what I understand. According to one of their reps on another forum, they will likely never re-release the older Marvel Bishoujo (let alone the SDCC variants). Disney told them that times have changed, and it is no longer acceptable. So Psylocke SDCC Variant will likely never see a re-release. I have the X-force variant, which I picked up as soon as they cancelled the re-release after the Disney fiasco.

But, DC seems to be fine with it given that they do already allow for re-releases of older ones (Power girl, StarFire, Huntress, for example). That is why it feels like a waste that they are just giving us paint variants when they could re-release the older DC Bishoujo at least.

Nah, the very first release isn't that pricey just checked Ebay, usually the price goes down once there's a re release of a same character.

Yup totally agree with you there! I used to have both versions of Psylocke, but didn't have the room and kept X-Force because it's my favorite one.

Same reason any company brings out toys that share molds, but have different paint jobs or a different face. I love it. That said, I love the way this Poison Ivy looks. If I can swing the ever-rising price on these, I will get it.

Too bad SDCC Psylocke never went down. It was NEVER cheap on the aftermarket. You either got it at the Con or you were just going to get price railed after it. Psylocke is my favorite X-Men character, but I will never pay $300-$350 for a Bishoujo. They made a mistake when they decided it would be a good idea to make the X-Force version the normal release.

Are we talking about the same figure? The cheapest one on eBay of the 2011 release is $270 USD. That is excluding the shipping + taxes. It is a lot when you consider the fact that the MSRP was around $70 USD.

It is a bit different with action figures though. You can have them posed differently. But, it looks odd with a statue though.

If you are planing to buy it, wait a bit because the price will drop significantly. The Scarlett variant they released (blue and white) is in the bargain bin now for 50% off, which is a really good deal. I got the first release of Ivy from the bargain bin for around 60 USD too . So if you are willing to wait, it will drop.

This is great!!

I'm very quickly running out of space in my collection, but this is seriously tempting--I never liked the white skin Ivy as I am more fond of/interested in the green skin version, so glad to see they're finally releasing it. Hair is a bit too yellow for my taste, would have preferred the first version red be used, but not bad at all.

That would indeed explain some things. Thanks for the info! Can't say I'm surprised by this, Disney being the holier than you hypocrites they are...

Indeed, my thoughts exactly! I hate the whole convention exclusive aspect (as it basically only pleases scalpers and re-sellers) and this was one of the worst ones. For me living in Europe it's even worse, as I would have to add shipping and import taxes. More than I'm willing to pay for it.

Here's one for $190, granted a bit high but not as high as you're stating it is...
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Kotobukiya-...YAAOSwLTZf09-N

And here are some that were sold 2 used and 1 new, granted 1 of the used ones didn't seem to be that great of shape, but still not as high as 270ish...Unless I pulled up the wrong one, but I'm pretty sure as I have the very first edition of Poison Ivy.

Saw that from amiami, but their shipping came out to be like $85 ish USD, although I was going for both Variant Joe ladies...might be cheaper if you just get the one, but for me I rather wait to see if the US websites will drop the prices on theirs because the shipping will be a lot cheaper, getting it half price is great, but when you factor in the shipping it almost equates the same IMO.
