I fully expect McFarlane to announce Black & White variants of all of these figures soon enough.

That Bruce head has hints of the Affleck likeness in there. Same with Cavil Superman.

They are also very heavy hand painted there, possible that the sculpts are being lost with thick paint. I'm curious if they will be different at production level.

Either way, Old Boy CTTS could be busy if he wanted to dig in to these...

lmao @ the unmasked Batman head. Wow. Anyways, none of these figures look worth the money they are asking. I wanted to like them, but I just can't.

This IMHO seems to be all McFarlane figures. They just do one flat color with thick ass paint and whatever sculpting is underneath gets lost. Their faces all look like someone you see on TV who has shit tons of makeup caked on their face to the point that all definition is lost.

Reminds me a bit of the issues with Star Wars Black Series pre-Photo Real. People found some good sculpts underneath once you saw experts repaint these things. Or once Hasbro themselves updated them with photo real.

This looks like that. You can see a bit of Ben, and if the face was stripped down and repainted by somebody who knew what they were doing it might actually look like Ben.

This guy does great stuff. I have a Boba unmasked head and that Pattison Bats.

It takes a lot of energy and skill to paint that small well, not something that can be done in mass cheaply. Those heads run 40 50 bucks at times. And if they did that for the proto and then it didn't look like that at retail, would also suck.

Don't got the answer, just saying these may have sculpt present under the paint. May*.

Those are great pieces for sure (the heads), Oldboys does put out quality work as some others I like. I understand the effort (time) and skill needed to do these customs and I'd think it would be great time for a customizer. Always felt with a bigger scale than some of the small 1/12 scale it would be easier and wider margin of error.

My only issue really is that some companies, MacFarlane Toys included, dont have that great a quality of body- either limited articulation or loose joints. My personal view is if I'm going to give the figure a better quality heads/facesculpts the bones better be worth it. Same way with tuner cars.

But if McFarlane makes them, they'll look nothing like the actresses, so what's the point?

They also aren't Batman characters or some kind of heavy metal looking DC characters, so the chance is they never get made. Especially since WW is a massive ass pegwarmer (along with all the Jokers and now Omega in my neck of the woods).

I did. Works well on Arkham suit style Bats. People hate on every Batman before he's Batman, then he's THEE Batman. Trailers so far look good to me.

RE: Boba - yes, made to fit Black Series Boba and those shots are that.

The trailer alone immediately sold me on Battinson. Can't wait. And can't wait for McFarlane to screw up the likeness.

Has anything come out about the release of the armored Darkseid? I think that's the only figure besides Wonder Woman that has been completely MIA.

Probably won't get a new WW considering her look is nigh identical to her previous movie looks, and the WW84 figures are still stinking up pegs nationwide

I saw some listings that labelled armored Darkseid as convention exclusive, take it with a grain of salt but these are the same listings that accurately described the very recent Injustice 2 figure reveals as well as some Witcher figures which were later visually leaked.

I wonder if McFarlane's convention exclusives will be sold through BBTS, similar to Diamond Select's exclusives.

Which means we'll probably never get a Cheetah figure now, which is beyond overdue!

Not sure why armored Darkseid, aka the look most people probably want, is a Target SDCC exclusive.
