I am so sick of pre-orders and the standard that they have become in the toy collecting industry. I am literally vomiting everywhere I am so sick. Anyone got a 1/12th scale mop you can send me or do I order it now to get it next summer?? Not playing the pre-order game anymore!!

Agree 100%. I actively boycott products that get thrown up as pre-orders only to sit in limbo. To hell with them.

Preorders are the name of the game. I'd rather preorder something than drive around hoping to find it.

On another note, there is no way they got that Battle Droid to stand like that. I have that mold and he barely stands in a perfectly straight, balanced position.

If the toy game is making you so sick, maybe stop buying them?

^ IMO a lot of people did stop buying them... it is mostly due to the price hikes though I think... the switch to windowless packaging and the scare availabity at retail are just secondary reasons.

If lots of people stopped buying because of the price hikes, they would stop raising the prices. They actually said something along these lines to shareholders when the price went from 19.99 to 22.99.

It's bad logistics and scarce availability that are the limiting factors right now, not price. But I do think they are nearing a point of vastly diminishing returns. I can't imagine the same number of people will pay 27.99 and 29.99 for figures they were getting for 19.99 and 22.99 two years ago.

The price hikes have made me much more selective on new purchases, but I will say the windowless packaging is a flat out no for me, I won't buy them at all.

I agree, supply chain issues continue to be broadly pervasive. Couple that with overall inflation and less spending power for most folks in general, I think the assumption that people are still willing to do pandemic level spending for their hobbies (and by extension be willing to pay those higher prices) might not be sustainable.

Hasbro is the only company that does this 2023 pre order (placeholder) bullshit. All other toy companies have fall 2022 pre order dates.
