Street Date: Officially 2020-10-30 MSRP: $20 Price I Paid: $20 Scale: 7-inch (or 1/10) Deathstroke's basically sold out everywhere, but you may get lucky at Walgreens like I did. ---------- I didn't really start collecting action figures in earnest until the middle of last year (2021), by which time Deathstroke had already become scarce. However, one day in December, I drove around to several Walgreens stores in my area and found one for MSRP. In the plastic tray, there's one main plastic tie around the torso. Deathstroke comes with a sword and a scabbard already attached to his back. You also get an information card and a base stand. Deathstroke looks big, and he stands about 7.2-inches tall. However, several of the Batman figures are taller and/or beefier than Deathstroke. Deathstroke does not come with a gun, even though he was released before Warner's "gun ban" on toys marketed to young children. Instead, there's a non-removable gun in the right thigh holster. This is actually a detail I wish had been included with the live-action Robert Pattinson Batman figure (it was there in the 12-inch statue). However, the left hand has a trigger finger, so you can use guns from other McFarlane figures if you have them. I know that McFarlane has manufactured half/exposed scabbards since at least all the way back in 1999, but they look goofy. Also, McFarlane is using softer materials now, so the scabbard doesn't remain straight/flat. I don't even use it since it starts warping the sword as soon as it's sheathed. The scabbard loop on the back can hold the sword (as well as the promethium sword included with Damian Wayne Robin) just fine. What's really disappointing about the half/exposed scabbard is that McFarlane made a fully-enclosed one for the Ciri figure. The head and torso can be rotated 360 degrees. (The torso is just one piece.) The shoulder pads hinder articulation in some positions. The sculpting on the belt also prevents the legs from going into deep splits. He has double-jointed knees, but either the sculptwork or the ratchets in the thighs prevent full use of the double joints. This Deathstroke is a nice-looking figure, but it has some flaws. I suggest being patient and paying no more than MSRP (or maybe an extra $5 or $6 to account for shipping). Areas of concern: -- The double-jointed knees aren't fully functional. -- Not sure why McFarlane is still making half/exposed scabbards.
