Buddy, have you seen the latest bump in MSRP for Marvel Legends? They're not laughing with you, they're laughing at you.

They just need to do a McFarlaneToyStore.com SPAWN weapons pack once a quarter, which just so happens to have all of the appropriate weapons for DC figures that didn't have them. And some others per pack so you can go "wait, what, OMG that's so crazy we didn't even plan it like that".

I REALLY hope that's a prototype shot and the finished Batman doesn't have black elbow hinges and missing paint on his arms...

That Batman is GREAT! Except for the weird black joint used for the bicep/forearm connection. Also the forearm is all glove. I'll have to do something about that.

LOVE the way the cape connects. One could jerk the factory cape, pop the neck off, glue a cloth cape around the collar perimeter depression, pop the neck down on top of it and have a very clean look.

I started customizing Future State Bats and discovered these figures are an absolute joy to carve and shape. WAAAAAAY easier than ML or GJC figures. A wipe of acetone smooths ANY carved edge and returns the part to it's factory color. By knocking the edges off of the thigh connector and shaving some of the buttock (hehe) one can coax a lot more range out of the legs. In addition, pulling the foot connector, drilling horizontally into the foot and reinserting the joint delivers a rocker style connection. I also love the simplicity of the butterfly connection. It's inspired. Since working on my Future State custom I'm a much bigger fan of these figures than previously.

The fact that I can actually find them in stores helps. For whatever reason McFarlane doesn't seem to have the same supply chain issues that Hasbro is having. The figures are in actual B&M stores on time OR early. Which is super weird in itself considering they are made in China.

And? Doesn't mean I can criticize it because I would love to buy some of these.

I was actually planning to get that Year 2 Batman if I ever came across him, but there are numerous reports of his arms breaking out of the package that I lost all interest.

In fact, I was going to get the Comedian Joker figure to go with that Batman, but he doesn't come with guns either.

And that sucks. Yes. But continuing to beat the dead horse until it's nothing more than a greasy stain isn't going to change a well known shortcoming. However, if you use a crowbar I guess that's better to beat said carcass with.

However, The shoulder joints on the Year2/3J's Batman are idiotic. they don't actually peg but, have a flat face and are glued into the bicep swivel. The figure I opened didn't have any glue applied and the arm just fell off out of the package.

It's too bad they don't engineer more of these like Detective Comics 1000 Batman, where the cape can be removed cleanly since it's only glued to the neck.

That would be nice. Future State's cape uses a massive square plug (that's probably on other figures) and leaves a hole that has to be filled with epoxy putty. The cape has pegs that take up the entire front of the traps. But, the armor section from the cape can be trimmed and glued to a cloth cape and reattached. At least that's what I'm going to try. This is the first DC figure I've really messed with so I'm a noob with them.

EDIT: The proportions on the DC1000's body are perfect for how I think of Nightwing.

Same, it's my Grayson Batman.

Many capes have a massive square peg in the back. It's almost as if Todd is sabotaging our efforts to kitbash.

No, two different heads. This way people can plan in advance.

Hopefully, the inevitable single release Hush Batman will have a neutral expression.

Hopefully it will be an open coat with his original outfit.

I never want to see DC 1000 body every again. It's just terrible in proportions and sculpt. It's only redeeming factor is the cape is detachable.

Something they could literally do for every other figure by just not gluing them down and using a peg system like Year 2 does.

DC 1000 was a rush job and needs to stay buried.

If toy makers don't make toy guns that look like guns anymore I'm totally fine with not having 1:12 replicas in the toy aisles, and just buy my own 3rd party — McFarlane making their own weapons pack is a fantastic idea, and a great suggestion!
As a native-born Canadian, I'm fully onboard with you going back to your antipodean dystopia and taking your statist submissiveness with you.

Disappointing that Hush is basically a statue since they didn't give either one an open coat.

I first thought the figures without guns was a money grab from Mcfarlane, thinking he would do another release with them later on a variant. Didn't know it was a DC political belief being forced. Sucks...

I'm sad seeing Grifter without dual pistols. I'm down with a weapon pack on mcfarlanetoysstore.

If you do settle on buying anyway, just know you are part of your own problem and maybe start cross-pollinating and gabbing some NECA Terminator/Predator/Gears/etc figs.
Love this. Vote with your wallet + adult collectors (which was kind of my point excluding comic/specialty shops from the "no-guns in the toy aisle" comment). If I could upvote, I would. And I learned a new word!

Todd really is missing an opportunity to release a pack of guns or multiple packs of guns.

Don't feel like paying $20+ for a single gun like the Little Armory stuff is for example.

Lol. Sure Chad, sure. Hope you enjoyed your 3 week vacation in Ottawa before actual Canadians told you to beat it back across the border. Talks "native-born" but on-base in VA because of course you are. GTF outta here.
