So how many Batman figures we gonna get in 2021? I think 22 was the amount in 2020 so knowing Todd he will double it.

I saw a couple of the Last Knight on Earth figures at Target today. All they had was Omega and Batman. I started to pick them up but ultimately decided against it. While Omega looked neat, I've never read the story (so no attachment to the character designs) and the Batman clone just isn't doing it for me.

Also, the Target website lists the release date as end of February and I didn't feel like waiting in line only to be street-dated.

Well I wasn't really planning on getting any of these outside of Batman Beyond and maybe Red Hood but my mom surprised me with an Arkham Knight Batman today. Gotta say it looks pretty cool up close. I like it a lot more than the in-game version for sure.

McFarlane’s original Batman design is on Amazon. It says temporarily out of stock but you can put an order in. This one comes with a dark blue cape and cowl, different swords, and a gold batarang instead of the night vision goggles.

An Australian website has a listing for a new Multiverse 2 pack featuring Devastator (Batman Earth -1) and Superman. Superman is unfortunately the AC#1000 figure and not a retool of the Infected Superman. Superman does however sport a new head. Devastator looks unchanged. The set also comes with a display base. The Australian site has the set listed for $69.99 AU which would be $54.34 US Dollars. The listing also says early March 2021 release.

I saw him in Walmart in Stafford, VA. He looks OK. I am not collecting this line except for Batman Beyond.

Finally got around to finishing my own custom work on the Arkham Asylum Batman. I gave him a soft goods cape with a wire in it and repainted the eyes since he was cross eyed. Not sure if I'm going to remake the cape with a faux leather or if I want to try sewing the wire in differently so I'm going to hold on gluing the neck piece down for the time being.

Comparison shot

A thing of beauty!!! Was it easy to disassemble the cowl and take the plastic cape out? And also do you happen to have a pattern for your cape?

It wasn't hard to disassemble. I just heated everything with a blow dryer and then began prying the neck piece off with a flat tipped screw driver. The cape and the cowl's neck are two separate pieces. The cape pegs/slots into the body in the front and the back. I filled in both places with apoxie.

After taking this pic I realized that I have some blue paint splattered on the eye brow.

As for the cape pattern, I make those my self. I don't have any pics or even a guide that I follow.

Before I snapped Deathstroke's arm back on, I decided to take a couple of pics so that people could see how the shoulders are assembled on the McFarlane DC figures.

The top of the arm plugs into the torso with a ball joint.

In-between the torso and the shoulder is a free-floating trim piece. This hollow, donut shaped piece fills in the gap in-between the torso and the shoulder. This prevents the chest from having a gap while allowing for poseability.

The trim piece only goes on one way.

WIP update. I still haven't decided if I want to paint the glove palms black or leave them orange. But other than that, the only thing left to do is to add the battle damage to the armor.

I found the blue and grey variant of the Todd McFarlane designed Batman at Target yesterday. I know a lot of people don't like the design of this figure and I'll admit that I used to be one of them. But after getting it in hand, I really like it. I've also seen several Youtubers review the Gold Label edition and express the same sentiment. They didn't like it until they had it in hand. Is it my favorite Batman design? No. Is it my favorite Batman figure? No, but it's moved pretty high up my list of favorite Batman figures. He also looks pretty great next to the AotC Batgirl.
