These are nice, but I have a real issue with the $100 price tags these always command.

Even at $100, I'll take it just to have a good super articulated Ivy.
Your move, Todd. |

Actually these are usually $50-$60 converted from JYP. Depending on your shipping method, you add another $10-$20 to the cost. If you're paying $100, you are just padding the pockets of US resellers.

I assume the choice of footwear was an artistic choice and not an attempt to avoid making bare female feet.
In an attempt to stave off the the first wave of insults I'll say that heaven forbid my $100 action figures be accurate. |

I'm not gonna say you're a sucker for paying full price for something but it's always funny how the "it's too expensive" crowd can never seem to get their stuff at a discount. |

Maybe if you had a little patience and a non-distorted view of how places like eBay and Mercari work you wouldn't be paying $100 for it.

The retailers in say the US need to recoup the cost. Same with Figuarts. The only way to get them down is to have a dedicated distribution hub in the US. Anyway, it's a nice looking figure but I would need to see more in terms of accessories. |

I mean, I get it. Pay top dollar to get a close to perfect Ivy vs. the 10 or so I have that leave me unsatisfied. And thank you cjflan for not missing a beat. My concern for “sale” Mafex items is many times the look to be knockoffs. I only own the Burton Batman and a couple power rangers. My biggest concern is they never go deep enough into a property.

You're confusing SHF with Mafex.
And you're most likely safe from inadvertently buying a knock off a year or so after release. |

She looks really nice, look forward to picking her up, assuming she gets released before some kind of disaster doesn't strike in the next few years.
Not sure if you're kidding or not but just in case not, nah, they're not. Mafex is a line by Medicom, a different and much smaller company than Bandai, who own various Figuarts lines. I've been pretty lucky ordering from Hobby Search, Nin Nin Game, and Plaza Japan, don't think I've been done for customs charges yet so never paid close to $100 from them. HLJ, on the other hand...yeah, they always seem to get the import charges slapped on, boo. |

I am kidding. I do however confuse the 2 companies though.

Man this hush line really is tempting me to dip my toe in. The prices hinder me though as they are beyond my level of enjoyment I'll never take them out of the box.

But yeah, from my experience, shipping $20-25...on $65-70 figure...there's the 'close to $100' that i did say. |

I’ll think about it. I mean, I do want it. Ah, heck, I’ll probably preorder it since it’ll just come out in 2024 anyway. I’ll have time to save up. She’s like Hush Harley Quinn, she’s really nice, but I don’t have the heart to spend over $40 for it. I was hoping this Ivy would’ve came with Krypto, cuz that would’ve been cool.

Mafex is a fun product if it meets your budget. I agree that Mafex would be hard to rationalize as a purchase otherwise.
I'm looking forward to this release as well. That Mafex is also producing Huntress really blew me away. Mafex has come along way from my Movie Wonder Woman (2018?) whose blue girdle bled across her skin! And seriously: SH Figuarts is seemingly so risk averse (and that it probably got burned on its 3 Eternals figures won't help--but, wow, Sersi !!!)... I'm thrilled that Mafex is willing to take risks on these comic-only figures! I can't remember: was Riddler in Hush? (Or only the DC cartoon adaptation?). Does Ivy complete the cast (short of giving us a figure of Lois Lane)? |
