Lead, Platinum, Tin released yesterday and have not yet sold out. I'm wondering if Mattel made more or if they were just not as popular as expected.
I will admit the figures are a tad disappointing Lead uses Darkseids C&C body (I would have used Bane) and Tin has no articulation but one would think that these still be the "Must have DC figures" particularly with Christmas a week away. Last edited by CMIII; 12-18-2012 at 08:14 AM.. |

I think Lead looks funny with Darkseid's body as well. With all that new box art what were they thinking giving him crackled arms and legs. His size is not an issue to me just the texture.
You would expect every fan who had the other Metal Men would have to pick these up. Even if just to complete a team. I don't think theis DC line is nearly as popular now than when it was a retail line. If retailers would have stocked the last few waves people would have bought them.

I have no issue with Lead using Darkseid's body. The thing is with the DC figures, most of those who want them are subscribers.

I love the Metal Men and can't wait for my sub to arrive and I'll complete my team! however, Iron and Mercury were peg warmers out here and lets face it these are EASY characters to make, very little detail, little to none paint aps....Mattel makes more money off selling figures like this. I'm not complaining but I figured that they wouldn't sell out of these right away.

I wanted to finish this team, but I am not surprised they are not great sellers. Gold was the only sought after figure from the team at retail since he was a retailer exclusive. You can still find Iron & Mercury warming pegs.
At the Matty Collector price point, these are going to sit a while. I'm glad I got mine at least. Well they should be here by the end of the week, at least. |

Honestly I would have liked to see attachments for all three... Plus why doesn't Tin have articulations Mattel made Smaller figures with more articulations (B'Dg, Dex-Starr). As for completeing the Team sorry but Not Quite not since Copper was added and Dr. Magnus

Tin's arms and head move.
Copper is not a real member. If she was, she would have appeared in The Brave and the Bold. Magnus is a scientist, not a super hero. If non super heroes/villains were being given toys, we would have Lois Lane, Iris Allen, The Chief from Doom Patrol, Hugo Strange, Montoya, Bullock, and Johnny Thunder.

Im for every Major character in DC having a figure. Seriously how many of the same character do we really need? I have already decided if I have the figure (Batman, Superman, Hal Jordan) it's not essential... Personally I felt Question should have had the Renee Montoya Varient shes was the Question from 2005 - 2011.
As for Tins Head and Hands moving still a let down its Gleek all over again. Last edited by CMIII; 12-23-2012 at 06:59 AM.. |

Actually Montoya became Question in 2007 during 52.
I'm surprised Mattel did not do a white Raven variant though.

We already know legs cannot move when there is a skirt type pieces. This is normal for Mattel. His gloves move, which is the same as his wrists. That I can't help you with, mine is fine.

I was actually expecting a seperate movement for the hands. I am not complaing about the lower Skirt portion my things the upper portion. I still say the Bane Buck would have been better choice. I am not complaining about the size either.

Mine are great. I enjoy them more than the other metalmen.
@CM I don't say this often because everyone's entitled to their own complaints.... but These are exactly as advertized. I reaaaaally thin k you're nitpicking to death. Lead sucks because his swivle is the glove, and not the wrist? First, this is hardly news. Darkseid, as has been pointed out is exactly the same way (For a reason), and most action figures portrayed wearing large gauntlet-type gloves are exactly the same way. Why? Because that's how it works in real life. It's really not a big deal. Again, all three are exactly as one would expect them to be. And I think they're some of the best of this year's CIE, to boot. Lead looks fantastic. Better than I expected. Platinum has a beautifully sculpted head and face (Though not as good as Ivy's, but she's exceptional), and Tin is a cute and nifty little accessory.

@CJ so midway between your elbow and Wrist turns that must hurt.. Kidding I do know what you mean. Really I did expect the range of Motion to Improve it's been some time since Darkseid was a C&C.. But I can see why it hadn't doing that would cost more so it comes down to Dollars and Cents. the Buck Molds were the same for Validus, Arkillo, Kilowog, and Brimstone and Stel and STRIPE
