Finally got my notification to expect Mezco Batman 1989 billing within a month’s time… so based on that, I’m guessing these won’t ship til 2026 or so? Lol

I love their product but the production speed and communication are horrible.

Gimme, gimme, gimme!!!!!!

You know, I thought I remembered seeing something about them having a seamless Godzilla at ToyFair last year, but then no one spoke of it.
It wasn't on the Luminous channel on the YouTubes -so I thought I had imagined it.
IDK -maybe I still did.

Yeah, there's no questioning the product quality.
I put myself on the waiting list for the Christopher Reeves One: 12 Superman and found out I'd gotten it when I was charged.

Now, they do say if you are on the waiting list you will be charged if it becomes available again, but I had no email from them other than the charge.

It was hard to be mad once the thing arrived though.
It's great.

Mezco just won the Godzilla action figure competition. Move over SH MonstertArts, Hiya, and S7, Mezco is the new king.

I see they lost no time in creating the next potential pre-order meme now that Batman seems to be actually shipping soon.

"Ship date of late 2023"

Good one.

It might lose that throne before it is even released though. Or after a few years in your possession. I don't really trust seamless body action figures.

Totally down for a seamless King of the Monsters. Doubly so for a '73!

If this is a rubber suit over a metal frame then all those other companies will be on top again given a couple months or years when the rubber begins to split.

And that's assuming this doesn't have the same issues the Xenomorph did with its joints.

Yes time will tell. I’m loving what I’m seeing here though, and all of the accessories are a very welcome addition. A seamless gapless fully articulated Godzilla could be amazing.

At first, I thought this was the next XL line and was excited. Then I learned it's an 8inch figure. Bummer.

The fact that there could be a viable line of Godzilla figures with no visible seams outside of the jaw and the wrists doesn't outweigh the fact that they are 8 inch figures?

I couldn't care less about that. For one thing, I've yet to see a figure pull off the outer seamless skin effectively. I just remember my experience with Mattel's Swamp Thing and another figure I had that tried it and the skin was detoriorating a year in.

Secondly, I'd rather have an entire collection that matches.

Third, the price is a bit too rich for me. That's one of the many reasons why I dropped the MonsterArts line. I'd rather pay that price for like 8 XL figures.

I hope it all works out for Mezco, but I'm quite satisfied with my NECA 54 Godzilla for a fully posseable version. I'd rather just have something that matches what my go to line is now.

I mean no disrespect to this Godzilla figure. It looks very cool for sure. Some random YouTuber just dropped a very very early review of One:12 Ghost Rider!

Two things.
1. Gatekeeping is not cool, but the concept is to keep people out. If you're gatekeeping me from Godzilla fandom you're decades too late.
b. In any culture there is an agreed upon glossary of words. You can't just improperly use ellipses while saying "Rubber Big G RAH Takara" then declare such nonsense as "Big G ling-go". It's not.
3. You should be glad we don't gatekeep because saying things like "Big G ling-go" and then composing the wink emoticon (twice) would probably keep you on the outside.

There is the question of whether the "skin" will stand the test of time -or even if it will look good when it's brand new. But I am going to support Mezco's trying something new.

I see this '54 Godzilla as being around the same price as MonsterArts while also being larger than MonsterArts, trying something new with the seamless body, and containing more accessories than MonsterArts did when they used to come with accessories.

I just assumed you would feel the same way, but you're certainly not required to.

I hope this becomes a viable line, but I also hope it doesn't replace the 5 Points XL line either. Those things are great.

That is one badass Ghost Rider.
I had it in my basket but decided against buying it.
I'm wishing that scenario went the other way.

Ellipsis are three periods; no more, no less.
They literally signify the omission of words.
They artistically signify a passage of time.
Those are your only two options and neither one fits what you wrote.

The two things joke doesn't work if you only include two things.

No need to thank me.

I guess the other issue is that I've been burned so much in the past on a large, fully posseable Godzilla line that I have no motivation to start another.

If I start to see them do other Showa era monsters like Ghidorah, Mothra, and Rodan, then I might start to take an interest.

I get that.
I was so excited when NECA announced that they had gotten the license to do Godzilla's rogue's gallery only for them never to make a kaiju that wasn't Godzilla outside of 2019's Rodan and Mothra.

Mezco's 5 Points XL line already has many kaiju that I never thought would be made; they've even put out sets of kaiju that do not contain Godzilla.

So I think if any manufacturer is going to test the waters with other kaiju it would be Mezco, but we'll see what the future, and Toho's licensing produces.

I'm guessing you have the 5 Points XL Mothra?

Yep. I loved her so much I bought her twice.

lol

Okay, not intentionally. I preordered her at BBTS because Mezco put me on a waitlist with the caveat that I would most likely not be getting my order fulfilled. BBTS shipped her out to me and then a few days later I got an email from Mezco saying she had been shipped out. The second one is still unopened in my closet as I'm not sure what to do with her.

I somehow missed that she was flocked before I preordered.
That was a nice surprise.
