THX Solo. I was surprised how cheap I got it for. The auction did not meet the reserve but I got a second chance offer. Here's a better pic of that page: The chick holding WW's head is a Nazi.

A nice Dr. Solar, X-O, or Iron Man by Bob Layton would be sweet. I can't wait for the next big comic convention. I'd like to get some of my unsigned pages autographed. Especially excited to meet Herb Trimpe and Dan Panosian.

Here are two of my most favorite pages to date. Spent some good money but it was well worth it for a couple pieces of early 90's DC history.
Dectective 671 page 8 Knightquest.

JLA 70 Funeral for a Friend Dan Jurgens.

Yeah, I was broke as a joke and Pelitier was busy as a bee so I only got autographs from my roomie- but damn good issues got signed of Iron Man!
I can order a commission from Layton's website...maybe have Magnus and Iron Man fighting back to back.

Thanks for the comments guys. I've been seeing quite a few fellow collectors with original art up on the wall and it is as infectious as collecting action figures. It's much more satisfying knowing that you have the only copy of something.

Here are a couple more pages from Detective Comics 671 pages 2 and 4 to go with page 8

Detective Comics # 671 February 1994
“Knightquest: The Crusade: The Cutting Room Floor” Pg 2,4 ,& 8 Inks over pencil on DC Comics board
Pencils: Graham Nolan
Inks: Scott Hanna
Letters: John Costanza

The Joker's thugs dress up as classic horror film monsters and villains as the Joker makes a film about killing Batman. The Joker spots Batman in his new suit and notices that their is something different about this Batman.

Great page with Cap: Steve Rogers, Silver Sable: Silver Sablinova, Viper Madame Hydra, Iron Monger: Obidia Stane, and Red Skull Johann Schmidt making a small appearance via computer screen.

Cap's thinking about how all of his relationships keep going wrong as Madame Hydra is about to have her other leg broken by Iron Monger at the request the Red Skull.

Woah! Great page! But...how is Stane alive for that? He was only the Iron Monger for a few hours before Tony defeated him and he repulsored his hown head off rather than go to jail.

I guess your right. It is the Iron Monger Armor but not Stane. I couldn't find Monger listed in the cast for the issue.
Characters:
Battlestar (Lemar Hoskins)
Bludgeon (Marvel) (01 - Andy Manning)
Captain America (Marvel)(01 - Steve Rogers)
Amy Chen
Heat-Ray
Doug Powell
Raul Quentino
Razorblade (Marvel) (02 - Buzzsaw)
Red Skull (Marvel)(01 - Johann Schmidt)
Silver Sable (02 - Silver Sablinova)
Slither (Marvel)
Viper (02 - Madame Hydra)

Either way I love it. Thanks for the heads up on Stane not being in the armor.

Batman # 509 July 1994
"KnightsEnd, Part One: Spirit of the Bat" Pg
Inks over pencil on DC art board
Pencils: Mike Manley
Inks: Dick Giordano
Letters: Ken Bruzenak

Synopsis:
Bruce Wayne contacted Lady Shiva. She agreed to get him back into shape. She killed one of the deadliest masters in martial arts wearing a bat mask. After two weeks of training, Bruce finally got a strike in on Shiva. She gave him her bat mask and told him where to go. Each of the master's trainees unknowingly were now after Bruce (knowing only their master was slain by the wearer of the mask). The first attacked with chains; Wayne defeated him. Shiva finished him when Bruce refused to. Under Robin's surveillance, Jean Paul continued to spiral downward. Stopping some gun runners, Az-Bat recovered LeHah's medallion of St. Dumas. Bruce defeated another master.

Detective Comics # 671 February 1994
“Knightquest: The Crusade: The Cutting Room Floor” Pg 2,4 ,6 & 8
Inks over pencil on DC Comics board
Pencils: Graham Nolan
Inks: Scott Hanna
Letters: John Costanza

featured Batman going up against an assortment of Hollywood monsters. In reality, these "monsters" were just thugs dressed in costume under the employ of the Joker who is making a film about killing Batman. The Joker spots Batman in his new suit and notices that their is something different about this Batman.

Early in the issue Batman takes on look-a-likes of the Phantom of the Opera, Frankenstein's Monster, and the Wolf Man.

Later on, the Dark Knight confronts a few more costumed henchmen dressed up as a makeshift Robocop and Leatherface. Despite the cover featuring a mummy, there isn't one to be found in this issue.

Being that every comic titled was trying to out-do the previous one in the '90s (death of Superman, Spider-Man's 'clone saga') this Batman story is somewhat disappointing. Bane had recently broken Batman's back in the comic, so the "Batman" seen here is not Bruce Wayne, but a temporary replacement decked out in a high-tech suit.

These are Awsome !!!! you should apply to a comic book company and draw for them perhaps like marvel dont go to DC becuase they say in thier comic books " DC comics does not read or accept unsolicited submissions of ideas or stories or artwork" - quoted from Brightest Day Green Lantern Corps second page. Unlike marvel i think you can. Unless you have done so already then cool post some more.
