I don't have an official vehicle Voltron yet and this one is affordable. I got my pre-order in.

7 inches, cool. Thanks for clarifying. I put my preorder in the other day but didnt have an idea how tall it was, since it wasnt listed in the description. Assumed it was about 6 inches at least.

Is this a model kit like the SMP line?

I'll get this if there are plans to do the other Voltrons.

I've always been fascinated by Vehicle Voltron but I've never watched the show. Anyone here seen it?
Is that the wacky six-armed one that appeared on the back of toy packaging back in the day but was never actually released here? I think it was three robots that combined into one? |

That is exactly what I was thinking... https://voltronfandomhag.tumblr.com/...iddle-universe
I'm impressed by the combinable nature of this Voltron (Dairugger) at 7”. I’d also love a Shogun Warriors/Force Five expansion of this concept. Dicast at this scale would also be interesting and a callback to yesteryear. Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 08-04-2023 at 08:09 AM.. |

Yes, the pics seem to imply as much and they combine for the vehicular juggernauts as well. The combining aspect, at this scale, is what interests me most.

$65 for a vehicle Voltron that's in scale with my Godzilla and Pacific Rim figures?
There's no way I'm not buying this. Quote:
Action Toys can make a 7 inch vehicle Voltron that splits into 15 individual vehicles or three combined vehicles for $65. Super7 makes a 7 inch lion Voltron that does not split into any component parts and requires a handswap to hold the Blazing Sword for $69. |

There's no way I'm not buying this. I had to look at the vehicle pictures twice before I let myself believe this actually combined. The S7 Voltron @$70 is a bit inaccurate but, it's even worse than just needing to swap out hands (which cant hold the weapon anyway), it really cant move for shit, at all.
BM, did you have a Multi Force 14 back in the day? |

No, I didn’t, but I saw it and thought it was a KO! I was pretty snooty in my tastes as a kid and the Dairugger 15 was my only non-Godaikin giant robot. The funniest shit was I saved up my allowance for a long, long time to buy that Dairugger 15 (cleaning a lot of toilets lol) import and then Matchbox up and released a cheaper one within months! I think I picked it up from the old Forbidden Planet, when it was across the street (have they moved again?) and had a basement where all the figures, models, and ‘robutts’ were.

Yeah, once I saw that, I thought of all the crosspollination possibilities – I don’t do MonsterArts but now I’ve got to nab that Gamara Rebirth fig. I’ve already ordered this Vehicle Voltron, eschewing my previous notion of waiting to see if they do the other two. The novelty of this is too great for me to resist adding it to my collection. I’ve missed my OG Dairugger 15 from the 80’s, but this will make for a great substitution given that it won’t take up anywhere near the space.
This looks really good -particularly for that scale. Maybe Action Toys will be inclined to make a lion version if this version sells well. Quote:
I think I paid for $40 for mine. It is literally listed for $69.99 now. https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Produ...ils/133633?o=4 |

I almost bought the Mini-pla Lion Voltron model, but it didn't look... right.

I'd forgotten you are forced to swap lion heads to hold the sword, but the lion heads that are specifically designed to hold the sword don't hold the sword well at all.

I have and it was even more horribly edited than Golion was. It completely misses the point of what the Japanese version, Dairugger XV, was telling. There are also tons of important characters who died in the original version but then just disappear without any reason for it in Voltron. As such, I highly recommend skipping the terrible Voltron version and just watch the original show.

What didn't look right to you? Because the pictures I've seen of it are very anime accurate.

I should give it a go. I remember watching the Voltron version in middle school and it was weird that there would be random episodes that focused on one particular pilot and then you would never see that pilot again. For the first few episodes they were really concerned that when combined Voltron only had enough "nuclear energy" for 5 minutes. Then that was never a consideration again. Quote:
But for the money that it cost I didn't like how the inside of the lion legs were hollow. I didn't mind the parts swapping to emulate the folded up legs but I questioned why they couldn't do a parts swap to replace the front legs of the black lion instead of just having them dangle off Voltron's back. |
