This does a better job approximating Peter's 5'10" 167lbs form than does the new retro-body symbiote suit Spidey from Hasbro. Proportionally, this is a superior representation and considerably more accurate to the way Peter was depicted when wearing that suit.

That doesn't really seem to be the case if it's 6.3" tall. Proportionally, it looks great, but from a scale perspective, it's mostly consistent with all of the other Spidey figures Medicom has made. The ITSV Peter B. Parker, Ben Reilly, and the comic paint Spider-Man were all around 6.3"

Either way, I'm completely on board with this. It's fantastic, particularly the maskless head sculpt.

That's not what I'm referring to as I'm not concerned with the nuance from one MAFEX representation to the next. I don't collect the line and I'm not referencing the specific height of the fig vs the character's listed height; these relationships are fudged at best since the number of inches in a foot don't line up with the number of centimeters in an inch making direct-line comparisons trickier math than I'm willing to do.

What I'm comparing is this fig's aesthetic presentation and proportionality (torso, arms, and legs) to that of the Marvel Legends fig coming out. I only mentioned Spidey's height and weight to acknowledge that the MAFEX fig is consistent with what you would expect such a physique to look like and in keeping with what was represented in the books at the time. Conversely, imo, the Marvel Legends fig is too thick of limb and corded. I would imagine a musculature like that on a man who weighed somewhere between 185/190lbs up to even 200/205lbs.

Basically, this feels more appropriate for lithe, but athletic symbiote-suit Parker.

Yeah, good figure but at 4 to 5 times the price I can live with the retro carded ML Spidey's proportions.

I would have been all over this months ago--however I think Hasbro knocked it out of the park with their version at a fraction of the price.

Total agreement, Black Suit Spiderman was my favorite growing up, liked Pete before Secret Wars but this version marked a significant period for Spiderman which I loved as a kid. Looks good but various factors like price, collection criteria, etc have me pausing.

All I remember with this version is Kraven’s Last Hunt, and to me, this looks accurate enough.

I wish there was a masked sculpt with smaller 'eyes', a la the original Secret Wars appearance.

Only accessory this is missing is a clip-on “tendrils absorbing camera into torso” piece. One of the most mind blowing things I ever read as a kid.
