It seems like MAFEX is releasing another Iron Man figure, this time the Mark 45 from Avengers: Age of Ultron. The page I'm linking it to is from Image Anime, but that's the only place I've seen it on. I saw a magazine scan on Instagram, but this one is much clearer.

This guy looks really, really good. Lots of articulated armor plates and an unmasked face... almost looks like a mini Hot Toys.

I might have to bail on SH Figuarts for Marvel/DC figures for MAFEX. I thought the SHF Iron Man Mark 45 was good, this one just made my head explode.

they've really up'd their game , problem is the price , that being said might not get ripped off though £40-£50 a piece as i saw for wonder-woman though this at a LCBS

Main difference with the Figuarts seems to be the usage of gunmetal instead of silver and the addition of an unmasked face. I like the mask-up head, but I can't justify moving over to MAFEX just because of that. Maybe if they make the rest of the Avengers?

the biggest difference to my eyes is the definition of the sculpting. Mafex seems like it's more 3 dimensional than figuarts. The figuarts version, especially the legs, almost looks as if they're only painted rather than being sculpted.

Yep. The Mafex sculpt looks way better than the Figuarts to me. Way more detailed, better proportions, and more moving parts. I'm tempted to pre-order him if I can find a reasonable discount.

I really wish someone would make a good Silver Centurion in this scale. Definitely my favourite suit design, but the Hot Toys one is way out of my price range.

I loved the SH Figuarts Mark 45 (my first Iron Man figure), but this one looks way more screen accurate than the SHF. Anyone have experience with MAFEX figures?

Looking at different Japanese websites, I think CDJapan (Neowing) has it the cheapest. I think it's going for ¥7410. With the points I've earned through their website, with shipping (to Canada) it will end up costing me ¥7470...so tempted, would go great facing off with MAFEX Armored Batman from Batman v Superman. Only reason I'm hesitant is the lack of MAFEX version of Captain America and Thor from Age of Ultron.

Wow, Mafex looks MUCH better than the figuarts. Look at the sculpted detail on the Mafex vs. the Figuarts. I went with the Darth Vader Mafex over the Figuarts... looks like I'll do the same here.

This guy's on Rakuten for 7000 yen, and they just emailed me a 10% off coupon. Pretty tempted to use it on him.
