You know I wanted a new mold but I expected this. The size isn't great but whatever because he's still be bigger than the rest of Jefferson Starship. My problem lies in two things. First is he needs some yellow paint, at least on his fins. Maybe also on the head fin ears and the lips. Two, which is my bigger problem, is those legs. If they weren't going to create all new legs, at least do the lower portion and give him those fins too. Also how do you all pronounce his name? I've never been sure whether it's Ch'odd or Ch'ode. The second one isn't very polite but it rolls off the tongue better.

I can forgive the body size. Hasbro has to reuse body molds to save money, I get that. Like Hulk and other larger characters, their sizes are also up to the interpretation of the artists. Some has Ch'od a head taller than Corsair, some has him twice the height of Corsair.

I can forgive the leg fins. Some artist depict him as not having leg fins.

I can forgive the lack of yellow. Again, some newer depiction of him has no yellow, and I'm pretty handy with a paint brush, I'll be painting the yellow parts when I get him.

I can work with the ugly belt. Ch'od's pretty much going to stand behind Corsair in the Starjammers display, (hopefully with more members coming soon), so the belt shouldn't be a problem.

The wrong number of fingers I cannot forgive. Especially knowing how often figures come with extra hands/fists and it's just a easily swappable part that Hasbro can swap out a hand with the proper 3-fingers. That's just lazy on Hasbro's part.

What was needed was new legs, extra hands, more paint....I mean this was their effort. 30 dollars a figure and this is what they claim is a BAF? Even the head is meh...

I am just here for the shizz and giggles at this awful attempt. For those who do not know, Hasbro is hemorrhaging financially right now and they deserve it. Prices, lower quality, awful packaging...I am done. I purchased only 3-5 legends in the past year plus. 2023 looks to be even worse.

I had almost, if not every legends/Black series figure from 2013-2020. If not, multiples of many. Hasbro drove me away. This BAF isn't bringing me back.

Going by that art, it would've been more accurate to pull the steel molds out for the Toybiz Abomination!

Well despite being sort of disappointed at first I'm a bit more excited now. I didn't realize his mouth was articulated but that's a big plus for me. Also Cyclopswc, it sucks but I find it sort of hilarious that you called out those hands. I didn't notice at first, but those are actually new and yet they still gave him an extra finger. They actually made the effort for new hands but missed the one feature that was necessary to change from Abomination.

I think I'm done with Marvel Legends... I really wish some other companies could join the fray at a reasonable price, since Hasbro currently has a lock on all "mass retail"-priced Marvel figures.

The sculpts suck so much, and the heads which were usually passable I feel like are getting worse--that Emma Frost looks abysmal. *Almost* as bad as that laughable Invisible Woman face from last year.

Happy that those who wanted the Starjammers are getting them. That said this effort by Hasbro deserves to be critiqued. Kinda head-scratching to me that elsewhere on the net people are defending this absolute minimal effort with zero attention to details. Not having the lines throughout the body and being woefully short is pretty bad, but I can't let the fingers thing slide. Straight up who gives a sh!t effort by the Legends team.

Even the 90s ToyBiz 5.5 inch figure had the correct amount of fingers. The stylized squatness of that figure probably contributes to the fact that most don't realize he should be scaled at 9 feet tall.

I've been spending most of my money and time on MOTU and vintage stuff. With the price hikes, lower quality control, and distribution issues it's not uncommin to see the "I'm done or almost done with Hasbro and or Legends." sentiments lately. The Hasbro Joes are so much better than the Marvel 6 inch stuff currently.

Being a kid in the 90s who chased every toybiz x-men figure, I was beyond excited that these deep cut 90s characters are seeing light once again. But, like everyone else, I’m left……insulted.

I have both the 2016 BAF and SDCC Raft Abominations and I'm fairly confident those hands for Ch'od are the same with some light tooling.

No, Ulik has four fingers, as he should. Hasbro took greater care in depicting him, especially with the 2.0 version that retailed as a deluxe Marvel Legends release. Ulik, IMO, represents the best use of this sculpt outside of the Rhino to date.

Wow. Thats fucking lazy on hasblows part. With their unwarranted price gouging they should at least make the fucking figs accurate. And quit including baf partless figs in waves. Very rarely do those sell. Save that shit for the almost never at retail vintage cardback shit.

Once again back to the same old childish "Hasblo" insults and unsubstantiated claims (no one buys the non-BAF figure yet it's usually the most well-known character in the wave?).

Yesterday you were thrilled to see Ch'od and demanded an A-Bomb. The day before you were probably whining about the price again and the day before that you were probably talking about your latest "Hasblo" hauls.

People like you are the reason this company is given no incentive to lower the price or raise their standards.

They're not. Possibly the same digital sculpt files were used to work off but they're pretty different. Here's my Raft Abomination's hands for comparison.

Sure, what you just described is the 'same with light tooling'. From the photos you provided, the hands look to be the same size, with the fingers splayed in the same manner and showcasing the same fingernails. The only differences being overlays of scales on the back of the hands with additional ridges added to the fingers themselves. The point may be a moot one, but I really don't believe the hands are new.

Just look at the photos. Grab your Abominations. There's even a ridge through the palms that wasn't there on Abomination. Texture isn't even the same. Broad strokes are that both have claws and are similarly posed. That's it. Actually the pinkies are curled in more on Abomination so it's not the same pose either. Unless the seams are the best hidden seams ever, there's no overlays on these new hands. Sorry about sounding anal but I spent too much time going through storage bins to find that figure just to double check if I'm right. I'm Sum-41 on this dumb issue.

Lol In too deep, huh? This isn't worth a trip to storage for me, but, yeah, we'll have to agree to disagree. Just as with the “new” Moonstone, a re-tool does not equate to a new figure (or part, more specifically) IMO. I’d say I’ll know better with the figure in hand, but I’m likely passing on this BAF. If and/or when the 2.0 tweak arrives, I’ll see if there’s enough there to warrant a change of heart…

I hope enough people think this guy is garbage so I can just swoop in and get him super cheap on the aftermarket.

Ditto, I'll nab one for a song off eBay, which happens often when you know how to use the resource. It’s just a shame that Hasbro went the shortsighted route, but not at all surprising.

That's usually because the partless figure is either Wolverine or another random Iron Man no one needs. This I think won't be one of those times. I'm betting Cyclops sells better than most if not all of the wave.

Another head option would have been nice, but having the new Vulcan body will have to do.
