I've never owned a DC direct figure before. These look good. Are they only available through catalog and online?

I've been wanting to display a 6" New 52 JL with modern (current roster) Avengers but am undecided if I want them to be DC Universe all-star 2012 and Marvel Legends or DC Direct and Marvel Select

DC Direct stuff, in general, is usually available via comic/specialty shops and via online retailers. Not the type of things you usually find at Targets, Walmarts or TRU's.

I've been looking for years for the "right" Superman to rock the shelf, I think this is it. I may even pick up that whole team, so I can represent DC in a solid block.

Shelf space is limited around here!

Raven looks good but there's something off about that Wonder Woman statue.

Thanks for the info Joe and quipp.

The articulation of DC direct is about as limited as Marvel Select am I correct?

I've no idea how they compair, as I've barily ever looked at a Marvel Select.
But DCD usually have a DCUC style shoulder, T crotch, neck swivle, elbows, and knees. They typically have less articulation and range than the first run DCIH figures.
But the sculpts are usually top notch. I believe the designers feel they would rather sacrifice most to all articulations to keep from dirupting their sculpts.

Honestly, I still prefer the sculpt of the DCU Classics figures. Perhaps when I see these in hand, I'll change my mind, but for now, I'm planning to skip.

Do you guys think DCUC, or whatever they plan to call it now, will complete the New 52 JL before DC DIRECT does? This will make my decision in which to invest in much easier, lol. Hopefully more news on that will be released soon and before SDCC

I'd prefer that they don't rush it and do it right.

Anyway, these figures are really growing on me. I bet Mattel has plans to do the new 52. Perhaps we will find out at Toyfair.

I dunno. If mattel's gonna do the whole line up, then it's gonna be tight. DCD is planning on pretty much doing the entire league in one go. But Mattel, while typically slow (Raven was announced what, over a year before she was released? I recall her announcement coming around the same time Beast Boy hit the shelves), they *can* put stuff out with surprising speed when they want to.

Mattel's typical slowness is a bit off putting given 50-90% of any given figure is just repainting reusable parts.

Batman would be the big mystery, cause that can go either way. With Batman Legacy, Batman Beyond shoing up in DC Allstars, all the Arkham City Batmen coming out, and DKR on the horizon, the market will be flooded with Batman variants for some time to come. That is either gonna help New 52 Batman, or it's gonna kill his chances. It's really hard to figure which.
