First episode is up! I thought it was pretty awesome. Production values were pretty high for such a small budget web series. Can't wait for episode 2.

Episode two was pretty good. I like how they're going further into the characters' backstories first to flesh out the universe.

Third episode is up, focusing on Johnny Cage!

EDIT: Uncensored version will be available on Friday.

Fourth Episode is up!

More of a back story episode, but very interesting. Looking forward to Ep. 5!

Not yet.

Episode 4 didn't jive with me. the constant switching between animation and live action just screamed of "low budget". It also killed any momentum that they were attempting to build up. I consider this one a miss, but next week's Kitana/Mileena follow-up could save it.

I got a Sin City/Scott Pilgrim vibe from the animation/live-action stuff. But I do think they switched back and forth too many times. I would have preferred if they had done the first half in animation and then transfer over to live-action for the last part.

It was also a bit odd that the entire episode was done with VO narration, unlike the previous 3 eps. I mean, who is telling this story and who are they telling it to? I guess if it was Raiden telling the story to Liu Kang or the other heroes, I could see. But it sounded like either Sindel or Kitana herself was doing the VO.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was Kitana telling the story to someone like Lui Kang.

Possibly.

Episode 5 and 6 are up! Episode 5 is Part II of the Kitana/Mileena story (better than 4, still not as good as 1-3), while 6 is RAIDEN!

Personally, I liked the take on him, but I have to agree the similarities with Thor are surprising. But in MKL's defense, the general plot for Thor is very, very old. Some would say practically mythical. And there are clear differences between what happens with Raiden and what happens with Thor.

I do hope there's a little more info on Raiden next time we pick up on his story. I mean, they gave 2 episodes to the Sonia/Jax/Stryker/Kano story and 2 episodes to Kitana and Mileena. But I guess Johnny only got one, so it may be the same with Raiden.
