MR FUSION 1/6th Scale Add-on for Hot Toys Back to the Future Delorean Note: I'm new to this forum and this is my very first post. It appears that as a new member I am unable to post links, but I have also listed it on the classifieds over at AV Forums. So, if you'd like to see more pictures and video head on over there and search the site for 'Mr Fusion' and my thread should pop up as the top item I think everyone agrees that the Hot Toys 1/6th Scale Delorean from Back to the Future is near perfect. However, there was one thing that I associate with the iconic car from the movies and that's Mr Fusion. This was missing from the Hot Toys model (despite appearing at the end of the first film), so, I took it upon myself to make my own and you can see the results in the attached images. I have also done a short instructional video to show you how simple it is to install (see note above to see link to this). An incredible amount of time and money has gone into producing this add-on, for those who are interested, here's the process I've been through: Modeling and Design: I produced and designed the digital model myself and 3D printed it in strong ABS plastic. I went through various failed prototypes (I'm happy to share pictures of my failings if anyone is interested!) before eventually settling on something that fitted perfectly and was accurately scaled. The clear plastic parts where printed by a professional 3D printing house because my own printer was unable to produce a clear finish. Sanding: I have to say that this was my least favourite part. Sanding took hours and was done by starting with a coarse sand paper and gradually reducing the grade from around 180-3000 grit. Priming: After sanding, three layers of plastic primer was applied. Sanding is then repeated after each coat. Paint: It's at this stage that the various top coats are applied to all the pieces. The clear plastic components are given a smokey clear coat, the latch is painted red and the main body is first painted white and then masked for the black coat on the base. Decals: Once all the paint has been applied, it is then time for the custom decals to be applied to either side of the top section. Assembly: With the decals complete, the various pieces are positioned and glued together. As you can see; a lot has gone into this custom piece and has taken me the better part of 6 months to complete. Due to the time-consuming nature of producing these pieces, I do only have a limited number available. I currently have 4 completed and ready to ship, however, I do have sufficient parts available to produce more should there be demand for it. I am asking £149.95 each including postage for the Mr Fusion add-on. Please bear in mind that the Delorean vehicle is not included and is for display purposes only. This is intended as an add-on for those who already own the vehicle (although you are welcome to buy this even if you don't!). I am intending to list these on eBay shortly but am offering these to the Toyark community for a limited time. The price on eBay will reflect the addition of selling fees so grab one at a lower price whilst you can! If you have any questions please let me know!
