Marvel Universe Alex Ross Wolverine - Hugh Jackman

I have wanted to make this version of Wolverine for aaaages. Ever since I saw these designs by Alex Ross of Hugh Jackman in a more comic inspired outfit. I thought it would go well with my new project, which is to make Avengers movie concept figures.

If Wolvy was going to join the Avengers, he would need another and somewhat better suit than the X-Men one and he would also be in need of a fresh look anyway.

I love the design of this suit as it has the classic tiger stripe, but still remains grasped in reality and is believable.

Marvel Universe - The Wasp Concept Design

I was looking at Avengers movie pics on google and came across a fan made poster of Morena Baccarin and I loved the design. They had just coloured over a GI Joe movie girl and put Morena’s head on but I think it looked cool and liked the simplicity of the suit. I don’t know who made it but it inspired me to make this version of her for my avengers movie figs.

These are really awesome man, what body did you use for Wolvie? Also, I never knew of this Alex Ross costume for him until today, but it does look very cool and unique. My favorite alex ross costume is this Spider-man concept one (I REALLY want a figure of this someday!):

Wolvies upper body looks too big and overall he looks too stiff while his head looks tiny.
The wasps breasts look too big and uneven like plastic surgery gone wrong.
Still better than I could do and I applaud the attempt.

Cheers man. I used an old Johnny Quest Race Bannon figure for Wolverines Body. yeh Alex Ross did designs for a few X-Men but Wolverines is def the slickest!

yeh that Spider-Man costume was almost used for the original 2001 movie.... but then wasnt. I will probably make that one down the line.

No his upper body is fine. yeh its bigger than Jackman is but I can also integrate this in with comic figures in displays as well as movie ones being this way. all the comic book figs are overly muscled. The Jackman head is slightly bigger so fits better than the comic book one... which is kind of counter productive to what i just explained but im really happy with it anyway.

Of course hes stiff! hes a double 'ard b*****d!!

Wasps tits are armour, which is why they are bigger. And as a rule, i always make female customs with massive knockers. It would be foolish not to, whether the character permits it or not. one is slightly bigger because i was trying to mimic the reality of most women who have one ever so slightly bigger than the other.... yes... thats the reason!

Wolverine might be stocky but I always saw him as an agile, quick and fast character.

I always thought making female customs with big breasts was pretty dumb. Why not go for a more realistic look and focus more on the actual character than a sexual body part? Would it be cool to see female customizers or gay males creating big crotches on male customs? Didnt think so...

I prefer real boobs on my action figures. That's why the stock MU female body bugs me. The new X-23 body is much more realistic.

I dunno, I mean some of us are all about accuracy so sometimes having a toy with a pg frendly body sucks, and sometimes the r rated version is 2 much, so a meeting in the middle is best. I don't want spidey to have a chubby but he should have the indiciation of a small peter parker in his pants haha. I have this awesome spiderman figure with magnets in its hands and feet, he guards the fuse panel.... neways sometime we'll make a temp penis out of sculpy and see how many ppl pick up on it lol.

here's 2 examples and if this gets moded I understand

Wow, quite interesting reaction and opinions of custom breast size.

I actually would t care if a female customiser or a gay one wanted to make a certain body part of a figure bigger. The thing with customisers that non customisers might not always grasp is, a customiser makes a custom mainly for them self and to their specifications. I wouldn't ever judge someone else's work on their choice on a size of a body part, I have never seen a big package in a comic book or film, but u have always seen quite big boobs on films and in comics, so that's kind of why I went for it.

I see what you are saying. About making it a little more realistic, especially as I am working on movie figs. I like the feedback, but as no one has never played wasp, who is to say someone with quite big breasts wouldn't play her.. Kelly brook, Monica bellucci?

There is actually no source material to go on, except maybe the comics. Where the boobs are biiiig! I didn't intend Dolby to be totally real life accurate, or else why would he have an Arnold Schwarzenegger physique instead of a more modest Hugh Hackman one. There is nothing wrong with crossing the comic and movie versions. Plus I just have to work with the figures I have, and I don't have alot.

That spiderman is funny. Surely people notice though?? Lol

Its all good man, I was just voicing my opinion and I've personally never liked these "sexy" or whatever they are called customs with females with ginormous breasts. I've always thought of them being overly dumb and created by customizers that dont have much of a sense in reality of what real women really are and probably have never had sex or have no woman to speak of in their lives. For me, I like to look at customs and action figures of women that are proportionate and more realistic with what they'd look like if they were actual super hero's fighting and not having their gigantic boobs in the way of them having any movement without slapping themselves with their own knockers.
Talking about the movie industry is another thing, that an entire topic on its own on the justification of sexism, stereotyping, ignorance and all of the other hot topics that sell movie tickets.
I will say that some of your other customs that youve posted here are very very cool bro.

That last Spiderman pic is flipping hilarious if not a little inappropriate for the sight but man thats funny! His pose of exhaustion from popping too much Viagra is comical!

Hey, those customs look pretty slick- what head did you use for the Wasp?
I'd love to get that head, paint the hair black and make a Maria Hill.

it just hit me about that design. He would fit perfectly in DC with that costume. Its like something the Legion would wear.

Wasp is unfortunately a Keira knightly from pirates 3. I'm not a fan of hers at all. I don't know why I even have the figure of her. Luckily it doesn't look like her enough to bother me when it's on the shelf. Yeh it could make a good Maria hill actually.

If I can find a female who could resemble coby smulders I might give her a go. I also have plans for antman bit don't have the required parts.

Cheers for the appreciation guys. The paint apps are ok. I did the best I could with the clumpy brushes I have.

By the way, whoever asked before (can't be bothered scrolling up on this temperamental iPhone, could take years to find)

The scale is 3.75 or 4 inch scale if you will. I did put it in the title but couldn't fit the word inch in.

Do you mean the legion of superheroes? Surely Logan is a little old to be joining that youthful team... or did you mean the legion of doom?

I'M married, I like big boobs and I have had had sex. I find it funny that the argument is bod or realistic on a flying wasp woman.

COOL!
I have an extra of that one- I'm useing one for my custom Mirage from New Mutants- I think the skin tone look perfect for Dani Moonstar. Add a Kitty Pryde body, some custom indian boots, a spear and call it a day!

I meant to ask earlier, but what customizing tools do you use? (which brand of brushes, paints, etc.) Those paints app's are really awesome, and I've been thinking of trying my hand at customizing soon. So if you have any tips or suggestions, I'd appreciate them.
