Yeah, I don't see why this garbage needs a "news" post. Lol, someone must have been paid off.

Saw it on a shelf. Moved on. Found a VvV Gung-Ho repacked in a Ret. Joe Colton card. Found that more interesting.

Is there going to be a separate news post featuring each figure in the line? If not, why does this one stand out?

How much more for some elbow & knee joints? It's the 70's all over again, and not in a hip retro way...

Okay, so his WM armor was repainted...

That means it's still the modified Mk II suit.
Unless Tony built a replica, it should still be missing from his armory.

Like the gimmick, hate the loss of articulation. If this at least had elbows, knees, and ball hips I would buy this line.

The IM2 line is what really pushed me into MU. The Avengers line did have some lack of articulation but I think they did improve the hip joint a fair amount from most IM2 figures. Just a lot cleaner and smoother.

I love the hip joints introduced on the Avengers figures. I prefer that style of hip articulation to MU's thigh swivel style, because on the Avengers, the legs stay on and will not pop off unless broken. Also the range of motion is much higher. On MU figures with thigh swivels, sometimes the outwards articulation is barely even there, to the point where the joints are almost like t-crotches.

Iron Man 2 was a good line but just had lack of variety. Sure we had many Iron man armors to choose from but that's just the thing, the line, as expected, was mostly Iron man but it was too much. The villains should have come a lot earlier. Sure we got Crimson Dynamo early on in the comic waves, but movie and comic Whiplash should have been there a lot earlier. Ditto for the Hammer drones.

Most kids were probably just going to get their favorite Iron Man armors and then the villains, but the thing is, there were just too many Iron Man armors(mainly referring to repaints), and the villains came too late.

With these figures, the Assembler gimmick works good for Iron Man since it's not outside the realm of possibility for Stark to experiment with different armor/weapon combinations. However, the loss of articulation leaves me with no interest in the line.

In between Iron Man 2 & 3 Tony built him a new War Machine armor.

Marvel's Iron Man 3 Prelude (2012) #1 | Comics | Marvel.com

It's in the IM3 Prelude comic (which is movie canon) and it also explains why he wasn't around in Avengers.

Agreed. We already has plenty of discussion about these, seen the official press pics and those artsy snow shots, seen 'em at Toy Fair and they're out at retail now. I REALLY think this shouldn't even be news.

Guys each time one of the staff members decides to shoot their own images and make a gallery of a toy, we almost always make a discussion post for it. That's what we do on our older, sister site TFW2005 for Transformers and we are following that model here.

I don't have any intention to buy any Armored Assemblers, but for someone on the fence who is just now finding out about the toys, the images may help them decide.

Explains it easy enough.
Here's hoping they stick to maintained canon then and don't fubar it up with contradictory movie references.

I saw these and the Ironman 3 figs at my local walmart and have to say that these new Hasbro Ironman toys are absolute trash. They have almost no articulation at all, they are like toys from the 70's but they still charge a high price for them. How can a company like hasbro screw up a license so badly and totally kill any interest in any of the figures for so many people...not a figure has sold that I have seen.

These are terrible figures! I guess I will stick to the Marvel Legends and Marvel Select figures from now on. It looks like all the Hasbro toys are going back to the 70's articulation! I would have paid a little more for more articulation. I guess the higher oil prices finally really hit production of plastic.

Or maybe ToyArk doesn't decide what toys to take pictures of based on your personal opinion?

The line is certainly disappointing but if you think the figure sucks, wouldn't you be happy that the site did a gallery to show people that it sucks?

They do this with random figures in lines all the time and they make posts about it.

That was a completely unwarranted attack on the site, to be honest.

I was pretty hasty to call this gallery post out for being a waste of time/news. After Shin's post, I realized that it is indeed nice to get a good 360 look of the figure (something not possible just staring at it on the peg) and more importantly, I don't want to discourage anyone from taking the time to post other picture galleries. In other words, have to accept some bad with the good.

On that note, here's what I hope is a fairly balanced look at the line: the gimmick on the Assemblers is fun and I'm sure kids will love it, despite the articulation issues. Of course, I really wish they had given it better articulation for myself.

I grabbed the All-Stars figures because they're $5.99 so why not? The articulation is, in fact, awful, but I'm sometimes able to look past bad articulation if they still look good on my shelf. I liked how two of them looked but the other two had their arms/legs squished together and it's awkward to even stand them.

Going back to the Assemblers, I'd be more likely to pick them up right now at $7.99 but unfortunately, the $9.99 price tag is a bit high. Once Target or TRU does some sort of "Buy 1 Get 1 50% Off" sale, I'll definitely pick them up. The pictures in this post actually convinced me that despite the articulation, these will look cool all together on a shelf. I think the fact that they're suits of armor lends to this as it will look like, well, suits of armor on display. (I'm not saying the lack of articulation is a positive, I'm just saying that when displaying them, articulation is less important to me on Iron Man figures than they would be on a Spider-Man figure.)

Thankfully, the Legends figures are insanely great. There's not much to add to that other than what's already been said about the relaunched Legends line already. They're just awesome. (By the way, if you're having trouble finding them at Target or Walmart, TRU is actually selling them for $14.99, rather than the insanely marked up $19.99 they sell the regular Legends line for.)

So yeah, the completion in me will eventually get the whole line but I am, without question, disappointed in the lack of articulation. That's why I'll wait for sales or clearances, which I never did with the Iron Man 2 line.

I am very appreciative of the gallery for the figure, this and all the work that people on this site do i wish that the figure was better as to change the entire vibe of this thread

i'm passing on the assemblers no doubt about that, the regular 3 3/4" ones i might get just to build a hall of armor and something to fill it with....maybe....real long shot.
