With 2011 almost gone and 2012 around the corner, which MU Figure do you think in 2011 will be the rarest one that we'll hunt to the ends of the earth?

Just wanted to add as well which new MU character will have a variant in 2012?
I say She Hulk...a red She-Hulk version of her...

2009 was Blade
2010 was Silver Age Vision

For 2011 I'm thinking X-23 and for variant Absorbing Man metal skin.

It's Clear Doctor Strange. See tons of them, then never see them again.

Wow, what a tough game!

I guess Clear Strange is a good one. X's been in a few revision waves already. Though Metal Absorbing man is a good one. I barely found mine and have only ever seen two in existence!

Clear Doc Strange and metalized Absorbing Man- both look great and seemed easy to find...then poof! All gone!

But if that Damn Darkhawk variant ever hits stores, he'll be the "grail" figure to get!

...and of course, we have not seen what variant, if any, wave 17 has....or is it that there are a bunch of repaints already nixing that idea?
We usulally get one variant per wave, right?

Add to this game:
What is your pick for the likely variant in upcoming waves?

so far clear strange is on top. but think about this. we see alot of colored dr's so im guessing that that will be the "one" next year that ppl are going to want. its going to be something common that we see all the time now but never think about it....falcon perhaps? hmmmm.....

I never saw Cable w/ Hope. But IMO "rare" should also take into account that people actually want the figure. LOL. Hard to tell what will be rare though because you never know which fig will end up in a revision case or not... if X-23 never gets released again... she will be rare because she is a popular character I think.

IMO just like reg. Archangel vs. Deathmask Angel... the variant was more rare, but IMO more people wanted the reg version. So even though there might be 5 people who would pay $50+ for the variant, there might be 15 people who would be willing to pay $30+ for the regular (btw I just made up those prices, lol).

x23 is peg warming around here. Cable w/hope I only saw once. Was the Iron Patriot Variant this year or last year? Never saw that or clear Dr. Strange. ...Actually the Wonderman/Quicksilver comic pack is a ghost here too. Still early to call that one though

I would say clear strange, metal skin absorbing man, cable with hope and deathmask archangel are all tied for being both rare and hard to find now and will continue to be, but I think SDCC Sentinel and xforce archangel top the list. Mandarin and the prototype exo suits and final stage whiplash would be the canidates from IM2. Sif and Hemidal from Thor and Comic Hydra from Cap. Spidey had shocker and ss venom.

I think in the upcoming waves the females will be the hard to find characters, along with beast, antman, professor x, etc, all depends on wave distribution and then if there's running variants. There's normally 1 variant /wave be it base, paint or sculpt.

While not the most rare, I think that the army builder types will be sought after in coming years- the three pack versions in particular.

I think Sif is much easier to find now because I saw her multiple times at TRU recently... I think she showed up again in a Thor revision case or something; the one that comes with the black Destroyers and Cosmic Thor. And I saw a bazillion SS Venoms at the Disney Store a while back... nobody bought them when they were there.

I just saw reg Cable at TRU also, he must come in a recent revision case because I never saw him when the Cyclops/Cable wave first came out.

And I thought accessory baby Hope was the dumbest thing ever... until I learned she grew up to be the hawt 6" Marvel Legends Hope... now I want a MU Cable w/ Baby Hope. LOL.

I passed on hopeless Cable a couple of weeks back at Target- whenever I buy something thinking "someone at Toyark nees this!" it languishes in my car's trunk- I have a color Doc Strange in there if anyone needs him.

No one?

That's what I thought.

But yes, baby Hope IS the dumbest thing ever- mine is somewhere uinder my computer stand at the moment. Cable is not the brightest bulb to use the infant he's supposed to be protecting as a flack jacket.

Maybe he just time-travels back over and over, Groundhog Day style untill he achieves a result where he's not covered in her visceria.

Have you read the books the figure is based on ? Or just going off the figure itself?
