Between the timing and the selling them on their own, they most likely we're speaking of the video game version. When I asked at my local store they made the same mistake at first. Not only will the figure not scan as an item by itself at the register, it has no price point of its own. Anyone who manages to buy one on its own must be getting a manager to manually override at the register and sell it as a generic item, or scanning in an "equivalent" item.

I'm glad I preordered on the eBay page, I'd rather have the better version of the bluray. It sounds like they went all out with the bonus features.

Is there still no information on why the TRU page went down? I read a few days ago on NECA's Twitter page that the bundle would only be available in stores and not on the TRU website, so now I'm worried that the listing was a mistake and that they won't deliver it.

I visited the closest one in person and had a picture of it on my phone. I showed the guy the video game ones and he said that they had the movie version was indeed there the previous week but all gone. He could be lying but I kinda doubt it. Seemed like a nice guy.

As for the others, I just called, and they basically said they didn't know what it was and couldn't help without a TRU product number.

Yeah, I started getting paranoid about the same thing today. Hopefully, being such a large company, they wouldn't do something like that. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I don't understand how they could mistakenly create a whole page for a product that isn't supposed to be sold through the website.

That is utter BS that they aren't even selling the 25th anniversary BD with him. I think this is fate telling me not to bother buying this guy.

hadn't thought of that but i guess its possible. the only thing that seemed odd about the TRU listing was that it said it that the item was only available online. so yeah, i don't know. this whole thing seems like its been handled kind of clumsy, if you ask me.

jesus dude...you were bitching about paying $40 for this earlier in the thread. now its retailing at the store for almost half that amount (you're basically getting the movie for free) and you're still complaining lol.

Product listings on toysrus.com nearly always disappear once the item is out of stock. It'll be back as soon as they get some in, assuming they do. People hoping to score from there will have to check pretty frequently, though.

Apparently my brother pre-ordered through ebay shortly after the listing was first put up as a Christmas gift for me. So, I'll get the figure for free plus the Diamond Luxe Blu-Ray, apparently? Sweet.

I'm glad NECA is able to put this out for sale.

Someone was just on Twitter asking NECA for an update about TRU pre-order cancellations, but all they had to say was "no idea here". I've tried asking them about the disappearing TRU listing but never got an answer.

Edit: Never mind that, he was referring to some Terminator figures and didn't specify in the original tweet.

I'm in the same boat. I missed out on the ebay and TRU listing, but I already have the DVD so the blu ray isn't a big deal. I'm not sure if the 25 year old movie would even look better on blu ray.
Stopped by TRU but all they had were the NES blueberry version of batman. Hopefully I'll snag a movie color version at retail.

No no no, blueberries are grayer and darker than that, he's more of a blue raspberry.

UPDATE: Saw on The Fwoosh that someone in my neck of the woods had found 15 at one of "our" TRUs,I decided to give it a shot, when I got there, they had 7 left,6 had really badly painted symbols, lots of black slop,so I'm very glad I got to pick mine in person,no sign of the DVD anywhere near the figs, didn't want it anyways so just got the fig.

Because I already own that version of the movie, just in digibook form. What could I do with another copy? Finger blast it?

How much was the fig by itself? I'm amazed at how much he's going for on eBay. I would just get a blue raspberry version and repaint it if anything.

i was considering getting an extra nes figure to repaint into one of the dark knight collection colors but, i feel its only inevitable that neca is going to be doing kenner tributes next year.

Well, Christmas is right around the corner, so you can give it to someone. Or you could sell it. Or I guess you can finger blast it. Or you can just put it on a shelf with the rest of your movies and not complain about it, since like others have said, it is pretty much a free movie...

If you want the toy, then get the toy. Why is the fact that it includes a free movie such a big deal?

seriously man.. you just want to complain for the sake of complaining.

i mean.. give it a rest. we get it... i'm sure if they were giving it away for free you'd still find a problem with it.

oh well, it comes with DVD, BIG DEAL.. i got it, you have it already, we know. it's just a bonus.. it's just something they're using to get this thing released.. if it didn't HAVE to be there, do you think it would?.. probably not. so, get over it or don't buy it.. hell, why bother even paying attention to updates on it..

it's basically a TRU store exclusive.. they've charged plenty more for other TRU exclusive figures..

I already got mine. My local TRU had them on the shelf but I was told by one employee that it was mistake, it was put out too early due to the street date of 12/09/14. Without a complaint, a manager came over and pushed the sale through. I do agree, I couldn't care less about the blu-ray as I own at least three copies of Batman 1989 and I'm quite over the fact that Warner Brothers still refuses to release the footage of Sean Young as Vicki Vale and the extended Smilex commercial with Joker baby food.
