Unfortunately, that's not true. The picture on the back with the Batusi hands is from the 1/4 version and not this one. There's TWO extra hands total (one for holding the communicator and one for the batarang) besides the fists he already has on.
And yes, watch the paint. Some of them look like the gray had been sitting out in the rain while it was still wet. Of the five at my TRU, I picked the best one and it still wasn't great. But everything else is much, much better than the Mattel version for the same price. ![]() |

Both of the TRU stores I went to today had Adam West Batman and Heath Ledger Joker figures. I passed on the Batman because they all had the same strange paint problem on the torso that made the costume look dirty and I have 3 or 4 of the Mattel '66 Batman figures. The Joker looks really nice though and at both stores you could buy him on his own for $20 or you could get him for 50% off with the purchase of a "selected" DVD for $15. So I bought the Lego Batman DVD to give to my friend's son for X-Mas. Basically, you can get the figure for $20 or you can get the figure and a DVD for $25 which adds up to just under $30 after taxes. I'm really happy with the Joker figure, he puts my Movie Masters version to shame.
I'm really stoked for the Chris Reeves Superman figure too, even though it's going to make my custom obsolete. |

Good god what is up with the resurgence of the Adam West shit?
Anyway, have they announced if they are doing a Nicholson Joker to go with their Keaton Batman?

I actually talked to him at a bit of length about likeness rights costs when I was at the studio. While he didn't get into actual numbers (obviously), he said Arnold is most expensive, followed by Stallone. Anytime they have to approach someone for their rights (for movies where likeness rights weren't included), their reps almost always start at numbers higher than Arnold. Sometimes they can get them down (he used Betsy Palmer for Pamela Voorhees as an example), sometimes they can't.

Jack Nicholson’s contract for Tim Burton’s Batman remains one of the biggest payouts any actor has received for a single movie.
As well as landing a $6 million salary, top billing in marketing materials and a percentage of the gross, Nicholson’s contract also entitled him to a slice of the merchandising royalties (which netted him a fortune), as well as a set number of hours off-set per day, and the freedom to go to every home game of his beloved LA Lakers. the movie was a resounding success, taking over $400 million at the worldwide box office. Nicholson is estimated to have earned at least $60 million from the movie, and is still receiving royalties to this day. Adjusted for inflation, it far exceeds $100 million in today’s currency. |

Was passing through Cape Girardeau, MO and picked up Batman and Joker at TRU. They were in the DVD section and rang up for $19.99 each. I was suprised when they said that they were put out on Thursday. I'd have figured a scalper would've had them in their grubby mitts to put on ebay before the weekend started.

So it seems like the Superman has not yet been released in TRU stores? The two TRU stores I went to didn't have a shelf tag for him, and we're only selling West Batman and Ledger Joker. No one in this thread has found him, and he isnt even being scalped on eBay yet.

Is it just me, or does Superman's articulation look lackluster? No ab crunch, no ankle rocker, no thigh cut, wtf? Maybe it is just how the images I've seen of him are.

They're sending one over when it hits next week. We'll know for sure then. The swivel may be hidden at the boot cut, and the ankles should have some articulation as well.

NECA has rarely given their human figures ab-crunchs because it usually breaks the smooth look (and Superman being a guy who wears tights would definitely lose aesthetic from a crunch) and I think Superman probably has ball ankles which give some rocker effect (in the picture were he has his foot on Joker you can kinda see how the ankles are articulated). NECA hasn't given their figures thigh cuts since they used V-crotches, I don't even see how a thigh cut could vastly improve this toy's articulation but I could see how it might hurt the look.

The new Batman has a ball joint at the waist to allow for some movement. I expect the same for Superman. And since he doesn't have a the large utility belt that Batman does, he'll have a better range of motion. Also, the legs have a swivel joint just below the hips that gets covered by the soft plastic briefs. There is also a swivel hinge joint at the knees. It's all pretty basic NECA articulation that's been seen on the Aliens figures for the past year or so. It's not SH Figuarts caliber but they are by no means bricks.

I got the Batman but didn't come with batusi hands only the ones to hold the batarang and communicator. Also the hand joints didn't seem to work I try to cut the paint with an exact knife but nothing. So I completely drilled a hole trough it and improvised some temporary joints.

Has anyone seen superman in stores? He was supposed to be released 11/7 but bupkis! Do you think the delay is so we are pressured into buying it in the WB ebay store?

I don't really think Neca did it on purpose, but if one was to hold back a figure on purpose for hype, it would def be Supes, of the 3.

I got my shipping confirmation from eBay today so I should get my Supes and Joker somewhere from the 14th to the 18th.
