Definitely sounds shady...but the AFA was already shady soooo maybe this will clean it up? Grading is BS anyway.

Can you guys explain the grading shadiness?

It does seem odd for them to buy them. I'm sure we'll see plenty of perfectly graded figures now though. Can tout them as 'never touched by human hands' or something.

Here's a good article with a link to a Youtube video to summarize it if you have time. Basically Heritage auctions gobbles up all the video games they can with their subsidiary grading services, while also shill bidding their own auctions, which lets them set prices of, for example, 2 MILLION for a boxed Mario game!!!

Grading is crap. I would never fall for that stupidity. Toys are meant to be opened. I would burn the boxes in a pyre if it wasn't bad for the environment.

I did a years worth of sketch cover commissions through CGC and some of the comics I would turn in werent in the greatest shape but would still receive 8s and 9s. So yeah, collectibles grading, kind of a scam, imo.

Apparently people will continually send in comics, get them back slabbed and graded, not be satisfied with the grading and pop it back open and RE-send it in hoping to get a higher grade from a lazy/ less observant grader haha
