It is funny in the old set they are the same height but the alien is skinny and taller in this one.

It's just because the toys are based on suit/in-universe accuracy so the alien is taller and thinner, Kenner didn't care as much about that aspect so they were the same size.

As was often during the '80s and '90s action movies were made for adults but marketed to children. No one capitalized on this more than Kenner but since it was the '90s things had to go and get garish. Instead of getting a regular, movie accurate predator or alien we got a line of colorful characters. You don't have to have any nostalgia to appreciate these remakes, if they look cool then they look cool.

I LOVED all the goofy Aliens from the Kenner days. The Mantis and Gorilla Aliens were my favorites. And the guy that you could put armor on to make him look like an Alien but I forget who that was though.

I would love Mantis and Gorilla when they get around to doing those Kenner aliens.

Definitely. I'll buy every one of the Kenner Aliens if NECA makes any of them. I had so much fun with them growing up.

Think they'll do some Kenner Terminator figures? I'd love to get the T-800 with the three swappable arms.

I seem to remember them saying that not enough of the Kenner Terminator toys are weird/exciting enough to warrant an entire wave, I suppose it's possible that if there is a high level of demand then they may do one or two (besides the upcoming SDCC exclusive) but they only did the one Kenner Robocop toy so we'll just have to see.

Aliens Special Deluxe Space Marine Atax Action Figure Still SEALED Kenner 1992 | eBay

ATAX- Alien Tactical Advantage Explorer. That was one of my Favorites.
I still have a couple of the Snake Alien. The bendy body and the snapping fangs in the head made him my favorite Alien.

While something tells me that the snake alien wouldn't get its own NECA figure (most people probably wouldn't buy a toy that's 90% a tail), making a couple as little accessories for another figure would be very cool.

Or a marine and Snake-Alien two pack kind of like the marine and alien two packs that Kenner did and NECA kind of already did for the movie, just probably not as an individual release unless they heavily redesign it.

I might get this set mostly for the Alien. Assuming it's not an exclusive of some sort, this will probably be the closest thing to the original Alien that I can get for a decent price. The Predator wouldn't be a bad addition to my collection either, as the only Predator I have atm is the Water Emergence version. Would be kinda nice to have a normal looking Predator.

Definitely a work in progress (unfinished), but looks promising. Hope the finished faceplate and other metal pieces will look more metallic. The skin appears to have raised ridges to indicate presence of the usual cloaking mesh: one assumes that will get paint too. The skin generally could use more dots of pigmentation, but that's JMO.

My classic Jungle Hunter finally arrived a little while ago, and I was disappointed to find the paint for the camouflage ridges badly misaligned and smeared. I haven't seen this problem with any others, so maybe mine came from a bad batch. This sort of problem must be ironed out now, surely, but I'm left feeling gun-shy to order any more sight-unseen.

The netting won't be painted just like the individual Renegade and Cracked Tusk, they do it to be more accurate to the Kenner toys which didn't have netting but I think I'd still prefer if they had it or removed the sculpting at least. They look fine from a distance but when you get closer the molding becomes visible, it's not that bad in person and is only a very minor con for both figures.

As far as the paint on the net being good now for those who use it, all 3 I have with actual painted nets are good and any figure I've seen in store from the recent waves has been good. I'd say that yours could be an uncommon mistake or maybe if it's one of the older figures then the age may explain the less refined paint work.

I don't know or remember if it has been posted on the Ark yet but this set will be a TRU exclusive. You can pre-order it from their site and for what it's worth the page says its estimated release date is 10/14/15.

One would have hoped neca would get their qc together but two renegades and scavage later ( both rennys broke at shoulder and scavage would only move its head ) im not seein it. I may just keep this set in package.....provided i can even find it. Ill never order shit from tru....appearantly they send figures like this in F#%KING BUBBLE MAILERS. THAT IS WHOLLY UNACCEPTABLE.

I thought I had posted or submitted it a while back...but I don't remember. Thankfully my TRUs, as crappy as they are, have been decent getting in Exclusives provided they are not Marvel Legends, but even still...I'll probably be picking it up a bit closer to when the figures release.

When TRU sent me my ML Shield set...they didn't send it in a bubble mailer. They sent it to me in a box, with no tape on the bottom that could have easily been tampered with or stolen. Needless to say, I was pretty shocked how careless they were, and how lucky I felt that all of the figures and accessories were intact.
