I also thought eckart was fantastic, but ledgers joker was iconic. I think Nolan was pretty clear he only wanted to do a trilogy. I would love to see what would have been the dark knight rises with ledger in it. I've heard rumors the third movie was set to be centered around jokers trial. I didn't care for tom Hardy as bane. He compared the role to working at Starbucks and said it sucks, kinda mailed it in IMO. He was good in the revenant tho. I didn't hear ledger complain about the joker role or frank Langella complain about skeletor.

Well said, and I think that fits with my comment that they wanted to avoid a pointy-eared Iron Man. It's remarkable that they didn't go with something more flashy and techological, considering the excellent alternatives introduced in the Arkham video games, among other places. I would love to have seen something resembling the slick robot-sentries from Alex Ross's Kingdom Come.
I thought it would be cool if we saw a batman beyond type suit. Seems like zak Snyder made a story board out of the dark knight returns for certain scenes in this movie.

I hope Neca rereleases this figure in a smaller scale.

Tom Hardy is a pretty good actor but I do feel like his Bane was not a strong point of his career. The first thing I really saw him in and was like "this guy is pretty good" was Warrior and then I went back and watched Bronson, now he gets to be Mad Max and he was also pretty good in that new movie Legend (wherein he played both of the Kray brothers). I think it'd be pretty crazy/cool if he won the Oscar for best supporting actor for The Revenant (though he's got some tight competition for that one) but it would be especially crazy and cool if Fury Road actually won the award for best picture.

Well it wouldn't be a re-release it would be a remake, especially since there's a chance that they would take out some of the articulation for aesthetics like they did with the West Batman's elbows.

^ there you go correcting me lol. Ok I hope they "remake" this in their typical 7" form... But Neca I would love if u guys got back in the 3.75" scale.

Hardy was good in mad max too. My wife said every time he talked in the revenant she thought of bane. I guess I just didn't care for nolans interpretation of bane at all, especially when all of the other villains from the TDK trilogy were great.

I wish they had done more in the 3.75" line than they did to begin with. I need some Locusts for my Gears to fight! It sucks more now because McFarlane has Gears of War and I have that feeling that they won't be anywhere near as good as NECA's would've been if they'd gotten the line again.

TDK trilogy's villains were all around superb except for Bane pretty much. Even Talia was a better representation of what she would be in that universe and she didn't go full-fledged villain until a while into the movie. Way before we potentially get this less-than-overwhelmingly-popular Batman I'd hope for a 7" version of NECA's upcoming Batman Begins 1/4 scale figure.

I don't see what the problem is with this Batsuit. It's kind of refreshing to see a grey comic-esque Batsuit if you ask me but I'm also kind of tired of all the armored Iron Batmen.

My personal issues are all of the excessive lines/textures, the head looks super fat so the face look small, and the ears could be longer.

Yeah it's kind of cool.... BUT I don't think he can turn his head.... I mean we've gotten 75+ years of comics and decades of movie and tv and the dark knight was the first movie where his cowl was articulated so that he could turn his neck (so he could back out of the driveway).

I'm around 98% sure I saw him turn his head in one of the trailers. It was the scene where he's tied up in Superman's bunker or whatever in the "nightmare scenario" if I'm not mistaken. He woke up and started looking around.

In this day and age of movie magic they have to be able to make a material that looks comic accurate AND flexible enough to turn your head.
