Guess NECA didn't want to spring for the Elias Koteas likeness for an alternate unmasked head. Bummer.

Great figure otherwise, though!

Wonder what caused NECA to give the movie figures to Wal-Mart instead of Gamestop now? Maybe Gamestop hasn't been paying their NECA bills?

I'll still probably pick this set up, even though I doubt I'll be able to get it unless Walmart does an online preorder, but I'm still annoyed they didn't get his likeness. This is basically the only scene in the movie he wore the mask, he didn't have it on for the vast majority of the movie.

I don't think Gamestop can pay their own bills. That's part of the problem.

I was always hesitant about putting money down with them, I know it’s a matter of time. This however may kill them this year. Along with many stores. I think comic stores are also done for the most part.

Right before he meets Casey, Raph's walking out of a theater showing one of the critters movie saying "where do they come up with this stuff" or something to that effect.

Per their twitter page some one asked the same thing. Per NECA they asked Elias Koteas but he did not give his approval so they could not use his likeness.

Unless he's one of those superstitious types, I'd think he would change his tune in 3-10 years. Arguably was his big break, iconic/memorable characters at the start of his career. Bummed but also, like others said in earlier posts, going to be another tough cop.

NECA did attempt to get the rights to use Elias Koteas' likeness. He simply did not give them permission. Randy from NECA did an interview with Pixel Dan and he explains it. They even had the sculpt done, but couldn't use it.

Really hope this goes online for preoder. For one, my Walmart doesn't have a NECA section and their toy stocking is spotty anyway. Two, with the virus, I'm not going to stores if I can help it. I don't have the bandwidth to be checking for these everyday.

Since these won't be sold in Canadian Walmarts like all the other NECA figures, I ended up having to place a pre order through a specialty store that'll run me about $100. Steep, but I imagine it would be more than double that if I ended up having to go through eBay. Can't wait to finally get my hands on these.
