Eh... no. It's very nice that these exist for the people who want them but they really do look like figures of cosplayers who made the best out of what is clearly animated looking characters.

Dutch lacks bulk but is otherwise okay, Linn is really not good though. The face sculpt is not reminiscent of the character at all (granted, I know they had to translate a cartooney-looking character which never really works out IMO), she lacks some serious muscle (those arms are too skinny) and I think the NECA-style of articulation will hurt this one a lot since I don't think you can pull off any semi-interesting poses with this one.

I'm still glad they're making these, as most people might not have the issues I have with them and fans of the game should pick them up regardless, but I for one will patiently wait until a Japanese company who can make anime-esque sculpts get their hands on them. Which may be never, but I don't mind.

Love that we're finally getting our first confirmation that they're doing Linn. Up until now I've been worried she might have been ensnared in some Capcom legal nonsense. I'm still shocked that we're getting an entire series based on an old 1994 2D side-scrolling beat-em-up (and incidentally, my favorite one of all time).

Anyway, Linn and Dutch both looks great...I would have preferred a slightly more Anime-influenced look to their head sculpts, but I understand what they're going for, and overall I'm really digging it. I'm wondering if Linn's using Vasquez's base body?

How is the articulation in these? I have been kind of disappointed with my recent NECA purchases of Sylvanas and Raynor. Sylvanas can’t even get a 90 degree bend at the knee. Raynor can’t even hold his gun with both hands.

Considering how much effort was put into the posing for the official photos, I'd say don't expect anything better than what you already experienced.

I mean, why even bother putting articulation into your toys if you advertise them like statues?

You do realize they use the hand painted prototypes in their photos, right? They literally can't pose those.

Why? Other companies work with hand-painted prototypes too, those pose just fine.

I'm just saying that advertising action figures with "30 points of articulation" but not showing any of it in your pictures is kinda stupid.

And it's not like they always do this either, sometimes they show their figures in multiple poses, sometimes they don't. I just don't get why.

It's also the very first time I really notice it because they made multiple shots with dioramas and other figures but the poses of Dutch and Linn never really change.

Not everyone works in the same materials or style. NECA's initial prototype are all statues. I've seen them in person, they don't pose. The joint cuts you see are artificial. Once they get pre-production protos in from the factory, they update their official pics with new photos.

Weird. But you're right, not every company works the same way, they might have their reasons for that particular style.

They use that to show sales and to licensors for approval. They then have their factory resculpt (not 3D scan) down to correct scale and add in all the articulation.

There are variations to that process, such as when they are repainting an existing sculpt, and production/pre-production pieces are available to do paint schemes.

I'm so unbelievably pumped. I thought there was some sort of licensing problem that prevented Linn from being made!

Pretty happy with all this. As someone else said, it's not quite 100% how they looked in the game, but I get that they're kind of transitioning those character designs into their own style.

I'm auto buying this two-pack on sight though I'll probably skip the Predators.

That diorama is awesome! I'd buy that for a dollar (or two). But where are the AvP arcade Aliens shown last year? I was looking forward to seeing more of them.

I have these preordered but, I think I might use these as fodder for more game accurate customs. I think Neca SF Guile resembles video game Dutch's exaggerated physique more than this figure does and Linn's head swapped out with Chun-Li's (would have to track down an extra) would probably look more accurate to the Linn.
