Let's use this thread as an all purpose discussion for new Hiya Toys info in 2024. Some side chat is ok, just try to keep it focused on the new stuff!

I'm not pre-ordering this one, but I might get it once the reviews come out.
The eyes look kind of odd in the photos -like they're the same color as the rest of the head. On closer inspection they're not. |

I don't think it looks nothing like Simon Pegg, and it does look a bit like a young My Cocaine.
But to me it looks more like they just didn't get the likeness right. If I just saw that picture without any description I think I would be like "Scotty?" It looks enough like him that I know who it's supposed to be, but doesn't have that exact likeness that their other figures have. EDIT: It's not like I know Simon Pegg personally or anything, but I have a hard time imagining him withholding his likeness from this figure. How come? Quote:
With Toho's recent bent towards merchandise for kaiju other than Godzilla, and Hiya's bent towards creating obscure characters, I hope Hiya makes some of Godzilla's rogue gallery. I've been here before, but it seems more likely to happen now than it has in the past. |

Curious where you've seen these obscure characters? Have pics or any links?
Because up until now with them showing the 91 Godzilla they've only had the the license to the current Monarch Monsterverse. They've only made the main Kaijus. The Skull Crawler (Main antagonists of KONG Skull Island) and Muto (Main antagonists, of two, of 1st Godzilla movie) haven't been released. Last edited by T0ySick; 02-03-2024 at 04:18 PM.. |

I meant Hiya as a company has a bent towards obscure characters -not that they have done obscure Godzilla Kaiju. Although Bandai has had a long time to do a MUTO and the Skull Devil -but I suspect they consider them obscure. I mean characters like: Mean Machine Angel https://www.toyark.com/2022/08/26/ju...ya-toys-481669 Caligula https://www.toyark.com/2022/06/17/hi...aligula-471410 Anderson's corpse https://www.toyark.com/2023/07/13/ju...ya-toys-505734 Even their Star Trek line has the likes of Nero and Keenser. |

Yeah.
Wow. Like I said, with the Hiya one I'm at least like "That's Scotty, right?" With the Playmates one I would have no idea that's supposed to be Scotty. I might actually think it was supposed to be a Vulcan or Romulan. |
