The head looks more like the GTTHM version than the Mothra version, but I'm loving it. I do expect NECA will make some tweaks before it comes out like they did with the 62 one, but I'm sold nonetheless. It will make a great replacement for that joke Bandai did in the MonsterArts lline.

Under their new deal, can NECA start making classic monsters other than just Godzilla now? 'Cause while the Mothra and Rodan from the new movie were nice, I'd like to see more than just classic Godzilla figures without anyone for them to fight. Make a Hedorah, NECA!

According to the dude last year, they have access to everything. Whether or not Toho allows them to actually do a figure is unknown though. Hopefully this Godzilla also means a Mothra is on the way, but then, I thought the same thing about Kong 62.

So Neca has access to everything, but Toho might not let them? How does that work?

The bigger issue there is that NECA doesn't have the rights to King Kong.

Well that's interesting, the G64 on display looks better than the promo pics.

Wow.
A home run inside the box and outside as far as I'm concerned.
Well done, NECA.

Looks great! Just realized this is about a year since the last new Godzilla figure from them. I guess about 1 new mold a year is the pace they want?

Godzilla 1962 came out earlier this year and then we got the KotM figures.

Awe man, I thought they were fixing the head, but nope, it still doesn't look like the proper one for that movie.

Also, the same blast effect again? Couldn't they at least color it blueish?

Yeah, they've actually done a lot this year.
And there's still the KotM Burning Godzilla.

Sadly, from the reviews I've seen, you can't move the upper torso back far enough to line up with the spines so there is still the same gappage the MonsterArts version has. Not happy with that and unless NECA does miraculously decide to do Mothra, I think I'm going to pass on him after all.

According to this review you only get the gap in the spines when you use the ab crunch to make him look forward.
