That's a really great idea. But NECA's entire Godzilla line reeks of "missed opportunity." Their Godzilla figures are great, but not releasing anything else (aside from the U.S. movie tie-in stuff) was just lame.

I agree, but at least with buildings and effects they wouldn't even have to worry about Toho's licensing.

I do not get Toho. NECA are releasing lower cost figures. People who cannot afford the SHF stuff essentially. Toho is sacrificing money for who knows. A lot of the Japanese companies are so difficult to read.

It's all so disappointing...they barely got very far into the Showa suits, they never got to make any other kaiju, and then they announced 1989 and 2003 were the last two....but that doesn't mean they can't quickly repaint both of them.

I find it hard to believe NECA is out of the Godzilla game JUST because Playmates has a license now. NECA didn't make the "official" toys for either of the first two films; Jakks Pacific did. So what if Playmates has come along? I'm suspicious of Toho; they "giveth and taketh away" too much.

I think more Bandai has a say over it as well and they don't want real competition with their figures
