Looks pretty good to me. Can't wait to grab this.

For the price point, this is fantastic. The problem for me is that we get the SHMA of this guy this year too and there’s just no contest between the two, I don’t know if I want this one as a substitute or just don’t buy a GMK Godzilla at all.

I think my biggest problem with the NECA one is the skin, too smooth looking. Yes he has bumps and scales but it still looks more like elephant skin to me, not lizard scales. They also went a bit overboard with the scales on the side of his head which looks off, and the rest of him is too smooth, it doesn’t go well together.

Think I skip this one.

Does the tail have a bendy wire in it or fully articulated?

Good question. Form the prototypes I assumed it's segmented into 4 parts, three of those on joints and the very end has a bendy wire. But I can’t confirm anything, that's just how it looks to me.

The SHM one is too expensive for me, so I'll probably pick this up. What am I going to do with all of these Godzillas?

Also, was it ever mentioned why they don't include fire breath for theirs? Limited by the license or something?

I think the lack of atomic breath effects is just to keep costs low.

I totally agree with you about the skin.. But I'm not enough of a Godzilla fan to pick up the monsterarts version.. Hell, I may not be a big enough fan to even get this one lol. It does look cool though.

Since I'm not a huge fan, I judge based on looks rather than accuracy. With that said, I wish the spines were a bit more spiky to match the way his head looks.

So the tail is articulated? That's nice. Seems to be broken down in four segments which is pretty good for the price point.

Also I haven't seen the pictures with the white background yet. His skin looks much better here, it does look really scaly, that's great. Guess the pictures with the red lighting deceived me.

I do want this now…

No jaw articulation? Can't see a joint there. Looks like the lower jaw is a separate piece but it's just glued on.

Always be sure to click the story links when I post them. The white background photos were there on the first news story.

I don't see why it wouldn't. The line is cut in there and every release so far has had it.

While I really like this, I'm already in on the MA version of GMK Godzilla. Hope they consider a 24" version too.

You mean he is actually going to come out? Looks kind of plain compared to the MonsterArt. I think I'll just wait until I can buy that one instead, especially because his legs don't look fat enough.
